16GB enough or not for you we won't know, what kind of things you want to store in your phone?
If you hate the appearance of iPhone 5 then just get the 4S.

You are only a student, there's no need to spend as much money as you can.

I'm apple iPhone users from 3GS>4>4S until now 5. There is only different between 4S and 5 is screen and slightly faster, and 1 more think for sure is iPhone 5 wifi is S..K between my family and friend got more than 20unit iPhone 5, wifi signal are bad and poor.

i am difference with you, i quite like the thin and light feel of ip5, but i feel 4s design is much better.

and upgrading to ip5 is also same like using my 4s in functionality, so dont know wanna stick with my 4s or not.

If budget is a concern, a second hand iPhone 4S with 32/64GB should suffice.

Now looking at the difference between 5 and 4S. The iPhone 5 is an improvement of the 4S with advertised double performance, CPU and graphics. However, because iOS is so well-made, there will be no noticeable difference in speed except in heavy 3D applications or applications with very large database. Even then, the difference is only a few seconds. Even with 4S's processor, many things can be done normally without feeling lag.

The screen size bump is a welcomed advantage over the 4S. For some apps, it really makes a difference, for others, it's just the same with less scrolling.

Camera-wise, the difference is that the 5 is better at low-light capturing with the expense of adding noise. I'm sure with an app such as Camera+, the 4S's camera is still one of the best. Now made even better with iPhoto on iPhone.

I believe a 4S would suit everyone's needs if they're on a budget. It's a fantastic phone when it was released, and now it's even better with the price lowered. Of course if you have budget, better go to directly to the 5 to future-proof yourself and since the whole is better than the sum of its parts.

16gb depending what you want to store.. I bet your music is already on your ipod you won't want the same inside your iphone.

So what are you planning to store in the iphone?

I have no problem at all with wifi.

Iphone 5s is expected around June....

and the iPhone 6 the following June 2013...

Back to topic..TS having used both 4s and now 5.. if u prefer the design of 4s and 3.5" is sufficient...by all means get the 32gb 4s

er.. actually, three model will come out this year. June with Mini iphone and the 5s. last quarter will be the 4.8 inch model.

guess ur budget comes from your parents?
if yes, then u should follow your parents advice..
i guess u wont have so much freedom to choose?

iphone5 shud have better resale value than 4s i guess as new gen come out 4s is becoming like 4 now. so the resale shud drop more. but off course iphone5 will still drop...

After bought it since launch day, I still think its the best eventhough I have other Android phone to play with. The screen, camera and everything.

Few days back I go machines and I play with 4s awhile (dont know why they didnt replace 5 with it).

It felt bulky, heavy, just doesnt feel right! You should put both on your hand to feel the difference. Btw, I came from 4S as well.

iPhone 6 is not expected in June 2013....

As to the OP the 5s at least alleviates some of the design issues prevalent in the 5 and isn't too far off.
