a good effort, what you're proposing is a lot like CGS, but personally i think it's difficult to implement here because players cannot commit to their gaming 100%. this is point one.

the reason they can't, its because it's not rewarding enough. in M'sia, the only tournament that is rewarding enough is DoTA with the prize money the offier. however, it's not the prize money that sustains the player: sponsorships.

m''sian advertisers are still unaware of the gaming market, partially they are ignorant and partially there isn't sufficient data on the market. only thing is known: gamers are playing from cafes, nothing else is known. another problem is that adults/corporate decision makers still view gaming from a traditional standpoint.

so if there aren't going to be sponsors, it'll be a waste of time for most players. how many teams can attain what Kingsurf achieved? how many of those who didnt, sustain for a full year without sponsors?

CGS had to be closed down because it wasn't profitable. Rupert Murdoch, the media mogul behind CGS wanted to capitalise on pro-gamers before they became very expensive like footballers but i personally think it failed because: there aren't enough viewers. they sell TV programs for a profit, no profit = no cgs.

also, where can u find a person in M'sia who is capable of understanding multiple game rules and mechanics like CoD4, FiFa, NFS and DotA? FYI, until today, i get a little confused by most of what the CoD4 players tell me not that i don't understand, it's due to the fact i don't play CoD4 competitively. but still, i CAN try to understand, as a gamer i know it means to be in their shoes so eventually i understand.

like all the debates on mod discussions, i know it goes... eventhough i may need clarification. this person cannot come from a common managerial background. most m'sian employees are specialist: they know only 1 industry and that's all they'll ever care.

multi-gaming isn't ready. i still think it's better to be consistent first. stick to one game genre, play as much and as hard as you can and lastly don't give up too soon.

someone needs to make the effort and stick to it. it's a chicken and egg scenario, which do U want to be?

just to add on No-Fear's clan listing, most of them were sponsored by principals, i.e. not distributors. most of the products like Steel Series, AMD, ATI Geil, etc are represented only by distributors: sadly they already find it difficult to sell their products let alone sponsor...

after reading some of the comments, a multi-gaming clan can work, but getting the people to commit is the problem.

also, to No-Fear, mind sharing how these multi gaming clans are managed, both in players, training and finances?
