what they should do with the franchise is a new reboot
like what they did with Batman and 007 franchise

we need something totally new and yet familiar

it's time they let Ripley RIP, and return the sneaky, bad ass aliens, and not those recent AVP zerkling like losers

They should start all over again like how Alien started, start from 1 alien, trapped in a spaceship/fortress, while preying on unsuspecting victims.

Hmm... maybe a WW2 era + an Alien won't be a bad idea at all, or even a medieval era will be great

Alien gonna love those dark corridors of a castle, and many secret passage ways and dungeons

Ripley died in Aliens 3
in Aliens 4 is a clone of her, and she didn't die at the end
the last Alien in Alien 4 is lamest, ugliest and stupidest of all Aliens
it's a uber phailure

I wish there's no more Ripley in Alien 5, and pls pls pls pls stick to those mean bad ass alien(s) in Alien and Aliens

Seriously, a reboot of the franchise is required. I doubt I'll go watch it in cinema if the next aliens movie is a sequel to the last one.

for the story, if you watch it as a big fan of Aliens, then you'll be disappointed
but if you watch it as a sci-fi fan, then you'll be rewarded

My friend commented it's a trash & boring movie after coming out, he even fall asleep during the show as he's more into of a boom boom bang bang type of movies

as for me, I'm in between the sci-fi fan and alien fan, but I've enjoyed the whole session, even afraid to blink my eyes in case I'll miss some of the beautiful scenes
seriously, this is one of the mindfcuk movie
so many question to ponder upon after you left the hall

I guess those dislike it is due to the lack of suspense and shock of Alien/Aliens

Didn't read much of the news

but I think the "David" we saw in the trailer might not be the same David in Prometheus, maybe it's the same android model deployed together with the search team

anyway, from the looks of the trailer, seems like the crash of the spacecraft wasn't that long ago, probably Shaw survived and will meet the new crew

feels like the title gave people higher expectation of Alien's carnage
most audience already stereotyped how an Alien show should be: dark corridor, hunting, survival, jump scare, motion detection, lurking from behind, etc...

which unfortunately most are not in this latest movie, hence the reason most fans will hate this movie

I love Prometheus, it has it flaws (hated the silly scene of death crushed by rolling spaceship ), but nonetheless has good story, a spark of idea on the origin of Xenomorph, and some really breath taking landscape shots.

I was expecting something similar in Covenant, but unfortunately most of the original are lost in this sequel, for me it doesn't feels like a RS's movie, feels like he's trying to much to fulfill the demand of the studio/fanbase, and left with little of his own story telling. Basically this latest Alien movie franchise feels like a mixed bowl of rojak
