long time ago i made my own stereo cable. bought stuffs at jalan pasar & assembled my own. it's not that difficult if u can handle a solder iron. i'm sure u can find a standard stereo cable in electrical/electronics shop. those which sells cable by the meter. but midi specialist offer is ok also i suppose. make sure they use gold-plated plugs

i'm not sure also whether got difference in lo-z & hi-z cable. i think it's the instrument itself that determines lo/hi. pls correct me

i googled variax cable but the cable used for audio & power is called digital cable & doesn't look anything like a stereo cable. maybe TS should reconfirm this. i could be wrong though..
