Why do you need Stereo cables when a guitar only outputs in a single channel?
You'll probably be better off using a Stereo Chorus or similar pedal to get a stereo sound, provided you have 2 amplifiers.
If it's for recording, post record, just double the tracks on both channels.

I use Line 6 Variax. It needs power supply. The stereo cable is medium for the audio and also for the power.

So you know any place?

Syakir, I ordered the DiMarzio Stereo Guitar Cable (pictured below, more info @ DiMarzio.com under Cables -> Instrument -> Stereo Guitar Cable) from JS Music.

I haven't been able to find Planet Waves Stereo Instrument Cables locally (or in Singapore) - if you do find these, please do let us know. Cheers!

That picture looks like a mono cable. A stereo cable IIRC is supposed to have two lines on the connector.

it's available in most electrical shop. pretty common stuff. i've seen a few in hardware stores too. buying a branded one like planet waves or dimarzio is really a waste of money IMO. just get a standard gold plated one will do.

How much?

Midi Specialist said that they can make the stereo instrument cable. RM6 for 1 meter. Will be checking that out.

long time ago i made my own stereo cable. bought stuffs at jalan pasar & assembled my own. it's not that difficult if u can handle a solder iron. i'm sure u can find a standard stereo cable in electrical/electronics shop. those which sells cable by the meter. but midi specialist offer is ok also i suppose. make sure they use gold-plated plugs

Do you just mean a 6.5mm TRS cable? You can make those by buying cables and heads and soldering them, or you can find them in any pro audio shop.

You may want to check whether you want a Hi-Z or Lo-Z cable (sometimes labeled as - instrument cables [hi] vs mic cables [lo]). If you're using it for a high-impedance guitar output, you want to make sure the cable is the correct type. Most TRS cables would be low-impedance.

I don't even know whether there are any Hi-Z "stereo"/balanced instrument cables.

i'm not sure also whether got difference in lo-z & hi-z cable. i think it's the instrument itself that determines lo/hi. pls correct me

there're quite a lot of shops near the pudu pasar there. and there's one street with quite a few shops selling all audio equipments and cables. i'll see if i can find it via google maps, can't remember exactly which road already.

EDIT: oh it's indeed jalan pasar, you'll find quite some shops along the road. i've been to one end of the road to shop around i remember.

i googled variax cable but the cable used for audio & power is called digital cable & doesn't look anything like a stereo cable. maybe TS should reconfirm this. i could be wrong though..

u mean u want to send power thru the signal cables?

i think u need XLR connectors with phantom power supplies for that.
i dont see any other way that power can be transmitted over line cables.

The instrument itself determines the impedance.. but certain cables are made to carry hi/low impedance signals better than others.

For example this: http://www.canare.com/index.cfm?objectid=E...FC64A4EA6821ADA

It doesn't matter too much though.

But as for making 6.5mm TRS cables, I personally use this: http://www.canare.com/index.cfm?objectid=7...FAD046DCA18AAFA plus Neutrik TRS jacks - and solder them.
