Never heard of them, so no conclusions. On a personal view point, they look rather cheap.

QUOTE(ErgoProxi @ Oct 3 2013, 03:05 PM) Yes.How good they sound, I don't know. But more often than not, fancy looking gaming headsets sound pretty bad. They may be different, but in my experience... I've come to realize not to expect gaming headsets to sound good at all. |

QUOTE(Yagami5159 @ Oct 3 2013, 03:11 PM) Precisely.PCIE slots are backwards compatible with all PCIE cards, be it soundcard of graphics card or raid cards or whatever else it may be. If it fits, it works. There may be cases where some motherboards are sensitive to a different device on the correct slot, but there's never any harm in trying. I have my Xonar STX on my x16 slot simply because I want the least amount of interference and it works fine. |

As long as you aren't hearing any interference, then no.

QUOTE(Nyanmaru @ Oct 4 2013, 06:43 PM) Ceres 400 by Cooler Master here Disable Dolby Headphones for music, unless you use foobar2k and like using the DH plugin. For games and movies, I usually stick with DH1. I lose soundstage, but the gain in positional accuracy is better.not a bad one for gaming with the bass ! although the lacking a bit treble causes it to fall a bit in music and movies . question : what do you set for dolby advanced audio settings ? between music , gaming and videos . |

QUOTE(BlackWoods @ Oct 7 2013, 12:22 PM) Razer Kraken 7.1 vs SteelSeries Siberia V2 Frost Blue Between these 2? How about neither?Which will you choose? Kraken is cheaper, digital microphone but I think no 3.5mm connection? Frost Blue has better sound driver, but microphone seems weak. My requirement: - Good sound - Comfort and not easily get hot after few hours of usage - Decent microphone But if you only have access to getting either of them, I'd say go with the Siberia which IMO is really one of the only passable gaming headset on the market. |

QUOTE(alfiejr @ Oct 8 2013, 02:24 AM) It's an entry level soundcard that comes with fairly decent amp and DAC though. The soldered op-amps aren't too off the mill cheap stuff either. So yes, if this is your first soundcard then get it. QUOTE(BlackWoods @ Oct 8 2013, 10:43 AM) Any good recommendations for headset within RM200~RM350 budget? If you've been reading the previous few pages, the recommendation under the RM200 budget is to get a headphone (Superlux HD681 Evo) and stand-alone mic.The Siberia is a little over budget so I'm not getting it so soon. But if you absolutely require a headset, Logitech G230 isn't entirely trash... given that its price is only RM200 and it isn't the typical bass bloat or ear piercing trebles. Though, don't expect any miracles from it as the cheaper HD681 Evo is still heaps better. |

QUOTE(oRoXoRo @ Oct 10 2013, 11:22 PM) After stalking this thread for quite some time, I've bought HD681 EVO from lowyatian here. I've never believed in burn-in as I think it is a myth. What is actually burning-in isn't the headphone, it is your brain and ears getting used to the sound signature of the new headphone. Manufacturers usually say "allow for xx hours to burn-in" simply because by then, most of the time the consumer would have already adjusted and start liking the headphone for what it is.I can say that the gaming headset that I'm using are not match for this headphone (even without "burn in" the headphone all all) Maybe it will get better over time (read about 50hr burn in for this headphone) Is it normal for headphone without any volume adjuster? Abit troublesome And the provided cable (1m and 3m) one is too short while another one is too long for me. Now I know why people willing to spend over 1k for headphone. Cheers But in reality, the headphone doesn't change (if it did, it's very negligible) from when they are opened out of the box day 1 and 6 months later. The only thing that will physically change is the comfort, the clamping pressure might have eased a little bit and the earpads may have soften. Volume adjusters adds impedance to a cable, which means it'll further downgrade audio quality. This is why majority of headphones do not have in-line volume adjusters. I assume you are connecting your HD681 Evo to your PC directly, you can download AutoHotKey and set up a few scripts so you can bind the volume controls to your keyboard when you're playing, watching or listening. As for the cable, you can always buy a custom length cable from a few custom cable makers on the forum. BlackOctagon for example makes them, just PM him and get his recommendation. |

The A50 is a horrible headset for the price. Too much emphasis on the low end, the mids are drowned and there's zero sparkle on the treble.
Soundstage is subpar and instruments seperation is just barely passable. Not to burst any A50 owner's bubbles, but for the amount of money paid for it... you're not paying for sound quality, but for features instead. I still honestly think it's overpriced even for the features alone. |

QUOTE(Chew Yongxian @ Jan 11 2014, 09:14 PM) G4ME One - basically a HD558 with a mic and volume control. You can get a HD558 for much less and then use the extra for a proper condenser mic for even better quality lol. G4ME Zero - An updated PC350, just new earpads and a new paint job. $279 for it is highway robbery, period. You still want it? |

QUOTE(Chew Yongxian @ Jan 15 2014, 04:02 PM) While I agree on the G4ME Zero being highway robbery, I myself have a HD558, and I appreciate the fact it has a Mic. Not that I'll be buying it since I already have one. Under RM100 no, but the Samson Meteor Mic was about RM180 just a couple weeks ago on Amazon. But yeah, you know any Condenser Mics for under RM100? For those with headphones that has a removable cable, the best mic to get is probably the Vmoda boompro mic - http://v-moda.com/boompro-microphone/
Currently using it with my Fidelio X1. Once again, why pay for gaming headsets? |

QUOTE(Chew Yongxian @ Jan 25 2014, 11:51 PM) Unfortunately my Sennheiser HD558s have their own proprietary 2.5mm removable jacks, so I don't think the Boom Pro works on my headset. Thanks for the recommendation though. But a bit expensive at $30USD. On my HD558, I used to just clip the DX lapel mic onto its cable and call it a day - http://dx.com/p/mini-clip-on-microphone-7080 |

QUOTE(naminakata87 @ Jan 29 2014, 11:52 AM) Superlux HD681 Evo with seperate mic. If you really need a headset, Logitech G230 I guess.QUOTE(amiranna @ Jan 29 2014, 05:19 PM) Siberia V2 anyday.QUOTE(Helldiver @ Jan 29 2014, 08:31 PM) You got a point there, but I don't see any 7.1 USB soundcard sold seperately... and Razer Surround software just plain sucks --always messes up the audio settings in my PC. There are plenty of USB virtual surround processors out there. But like the Logitech G430, it's not bad mah Asus Xonar U3, Asus Xonar U1, Asus Xonar U7, Creative Recon3D, Creative Soundblaster Omni, Astro Mixamp, TurtleBeach DSS, just to name a few. |

QUOTE(maxera @ Jan 30 2014, 08:31 AM) what is the difference between usb virtual surround processor and audio card ? example Asus Xonar U3/U1 vs Xonar DG. and which one is better ? Xonar U series are external and Xonar DG/DGX is internal. Obviously the Xonar DG has a better DAC, a better headphone amp, slightly better circuitary.Xonar DG is of course better, but as they are both entry-level products, the difference isn't huge. |
