Hi,

I am looking for gaming headset that that have 5.1 surround sound but use usb. I cant use those headset that use 4 X 3.5mm jack plug because I game on laptop.

My budget is around RM 350, but I would prefer as cheap as possible. Please help.

Considered Roccat Kave? there's a review made by one of the forumers here, look it up.

BTW I own asus xonar u1. I tried this with normal sony earphone for surround sound while gaming. I'm not happy with it. Will ss usb soundcard be better or I just need a better headset.

but some ppl has limted space and stupid neighbours  , so headphones with soundcards are their best bets. 

4 jacks(3hp & 1mic) + 1 usb(power supply, must plug in, else Kave will not working)

sacrifice ur mic jack  , change it to hp jack in the setting

but u must try 1st...
not all pc can do tat, especially the old 1...

I actually try on my sis noob dell laptop which only support 3 jack and it work perfectly xD (without the mic... anyway i seldom use mic xP)

i just change the 3 jack into Front Speaker, Center / LFE Speaker and Rear Speaker

*sorry... noob onboard sound card 

Green Jack --> Front Speaker

Orange Jack --> Center / LFE Speaker

Black Jack --> Rear Speaker

   

5.1 headsets are useless
speakers well placed in a proper room is the only way to go...else stereo headsets already good enough.
The probability is high that after u experience or perhaps the lack of using a 5.1 headset...that u may agree that they're a waste of money and better u donate the money to me to buy a nokia n900

that means if you get a 5.1 headset, you must also get a soundcard to "enable" it?
that's something interesting to know..

Gaming headphones , no bass, only clarity, i find it good , can hear footsteps easier.

yup... Kave is closed back, it make my ear swt...
but tat 1 make my whole head swt, the bass is too strong for me... it make me feel a bit uncomfortable... but sometimes i still wanna "feel" it =.="

(strong bass doesnt mean good... it may be suck)

imo, 5.1 headsets are a gimmick.
ever since the IT stone ages already u can find ppl saying they're gimmicks - go google

take note that  calling it 5.1 is also incorrect, as the 0.1 is suppose to be a sub-woofer, but what sub-woofer is there?
should be called 5.0...the 0 for being useless

i tried them for gaming, whatever slight advantages u get with audio positioning are not worth the extra money paid for them.
more important is how good ur soundcard is and ur in-game sound quality settings so that it can process and u can hear better details.
of cos u would still need a decent headset, and any stereo one is good enough unless of cos u got money to wast...uhh...
anyway, remember - GIGO.
