QUOTE(colintang99 @ Mar 6 2011, 01:34 PM)
How's the WoW crowd at comicsmart now? I heard they're running impromptu BGs on Sundays. Anyone been there for BGs?
*
Went there yesterday(saturday). The place was swamped with mtg players and a few war40k players. lol

at least the store keeper is a wow player you can duke it out with him.

QUOTE(spacelion @ Mar 6 2011, 02:04 PM)
got any prerelease or limited events ? I prefer to play Draft and Sealed.

Comics Mart will have regional qualifiers on 20th. It's sealed.

Was testing my Ysera against Vince's hunter decks, man, I got badly beaten up by his ferocious pets; double Dundee wtf and the highly sought after Avatar of the Wild Tiger tokens. sad.gif

Guess I should cut some dragonkins and put in some Nourish.

Spacelion, I see you are actively posting in official Cyrpto forums, it seems kinda dead compared to UDE's, yes?

UDE went into bankruptcy due to the conflict with Konami (Yugioh) forced them to quit WoWTCG due to failure of license renewal.

Cryptozoic, a subsidiary company of Blizzard, took over the business and brought it to a whole new level.

ohh also, the drake smile.gif

QUOTE
Guess ya all missed out a point. With the core format streamlined to 6 sets max (4 with throne when it starts this Oct), it also allows Konami Japan to catch up faster globally. China is already catching up so 2012 will be the year where all (are) getting (releases) simultaneously (a)cross the regions.

I'm quoting myself here which I posted on the Official. Re-reading the quote, this MUST be one of the reasons of the hastily announced format change. Must be.

Mark, your post makes a whole of sense. Speaks out the heart of many WoW TCG players from everywhere in the world. But like all companies, Cryptozoic was established to make profit, the way I see it now is they lose some, but gain more players in future as the game will be easier to headstart with smaller card pool.

I feel sorry for the people who just splurged on playsets of Ashnaar, Broderick, Nathanos etc a few weeks prior. My incoming playsets of Feral Spirit, Wind Shear and Squall Totem and etc are going to sit in the deckbox for a long time after October, me thinks.

It's like a backstab from a poisoned dagger puncturing the heart of mine, cutting open the veins through it. This day came one year sooner, we've experienced and adapted it before (announcement of Core last year, eliminating the likes of Telrander Feral, Gorebelly rush, and Moonkin et cetera to name a few)

We just gotta adapt to it; or find a new game. laugh.gif

That could be an interesting way to make profit but unfortunately Crypto thinks otherwise. lol

Also, launching an entire "catch-up Base" does not sound as easy as it sounds, they only manage to print and get a new expansion ready in 3-4 months time frame, don't think they have the extra resources for extra sets made specifically for Japan. Localization takes a long time too, so they rather working on new sets than localizing Scourgewar, Icecrown and Wrathgate. Maybe, just a wild speculation.

Other than that, this is definitely a mistake from them. They are also releasing a lot other boardgames and CCG soon so that might translate into something, in this event.
