guys , to use the apps mentioned in this thread , do you have to use firmware 2.0 or newer ? did you guys pay to upgrade your firmware ?

i'm still using firmware 1.1.5 because i dont want to pay for the firmware. does it mean i can't use apps from itunes store ?
