FileAid is FREE from now til 17 March 2009. Go get it.

-----
FileAid (6.99, FREE for a short time) - Upload and download files to/from iPod touch through wifi or USB. That's right, works with USB if you have DiskAid installed on your PC. Ridiculously simple to use with Windows PC. Files/doc can be listed in alphabetical order, date, file type & by folder.

Laggy as in dragging time izzit ? After drag then ok right ? How long delay ? 1 - 2 seconds ok for me .... m.words no problem ? ( sorry ask so much haha )

And also a request for those who jailbreak their ipods .. can someone download iSpeak German and try if it actually works correctly ? Compare with babelfish's translation ? Seems like a good app but no review in app store ... not sure if i can request here .. if this is not proper then sry and ignore this la ... coz for those who jb .. download any app also free right ? ( i wonder why jb discussion is legal here though? )

Hi guys .. anyone using any good translator / dictionary app that can translate simple sentences between languages ? I'm looking something similar to babelfish by yahoo but that's of course online only ..

I've found 1 app for free ( forgot the name and my touch is out of battery after installing that app haha ) ... does everything good BUT needs to be connected to the internet to use ... susah la like tat ...

Would be great if someone know of similar app that does it OFFLINE .. don't mind the price coz i'll travel alot for work to "non-english" places

If you only need 1 specific language to another, there's a number of dictionaries available (mostly paid) that don't require an internet connection, and have gotten some good reviews.
There's also iTranslate which offers a number of specific dictionaries and and ultimate version (which has a lite version). You can only translate with an internet connection, but you can save some phrases for later.

I'm particularly interested with Thai and German for now .. do you have any experience / recommendations ?

iTranslate is the one I've got, can't seems to "save some phrases for later" like u've said. HOWEVER, I've found this another app called "myLanguage" which does stuff like you said, you need a connection to search but the results are saved in your touch ... pretty neat ..

If anyone has other suggestion for all-in-one OFFLINE translation map, kindly recommend me smile.gif thanks ! Else myLanguage seems okay for now

Sorry, no experience to offer yet, just been checking out translators for a trip in Europe. iTranslate has an ultimate edition (just search itranslate ultimate) which offers 5 dictionaries, it's 80% off at 2USD at the moment; but there's no Thai so don't know if it's any use to you. The lite version of the ultimate seems worth a download at least, as I couldn't find any limitations in the software, just ads.

edit: just found a free thai-english dictionary called "Thai Dict" that says it can be used offline: haven't managed to check it out yet though, ipod isnt with me
*
itranslate ultimate still needs to be online to use. I juz checked the description for the lite version

and Wow ! Thanks for the "Thai Dict", at last 1 that can be used offline. Too bad it's just a dictionary instead of translator though, which means it can't recognize sentences . At 1st i tried and it "works" ! Got something come out in thai , then i try another sentence, same meaning. Then i thought, it should mean "Sorry translation failed" or something haha

Guys, my uncle who is an iPhone user was messing with an app called "Global.AQ" he got off the app store, and damn, it was pretty good. What is it capable of doing? Well, it's capable of sending text messages to other mobile phones (Works perfectly in Malaysia) without any charges! The only problem is that the end receiver would not be able to know who the sender actually is as the number on the receivers mobile phone wouldn't seem to right, but to some, this may be a golden opportunity to prank someone! biggrin.gif

I haven't bought it so I can't really provide the pros and cons of it, but from what I saw earlier today, it's a pretty decent app. All you need is a wi-fi connection, and hey presto!

Oh, of course, you need to add the country code thing which is +6 for Malaysia. (Not 100% sure though). Give it a shot peepz.

CONFIRM free ? MAybe charged to the receiver lol .... btw if it's free then ok wat .. u can always say I'M blablabla before your msg
