Care to list your reason instead of flaming a product without details?

8400 and 8600 are time bombs.

Both GC are using a faulty GPU core which cause higher failure rate.I own a 8600GT laptop and in the LYN thread,we have high failure which is about 1 dead mobo a week, average when the model first released. My laptop's motherboard failed once before and got replaced. Then, later on,the smaller model call M1330 also having this problem and that model's owner's complaining their laptops having red lines on the monitor or no display at all after they own it about a year.Their motherboards have to be changed too.

Dell was aware of the problem and they release a critical update for the BIOS to reduce the GC's temperature by leaving the fan on most of the time.

IMO,if possible, avoid taking 8400,8600,or maybe even 9600 when buying laptops, especially you dont need that much power in gaming.

If im not wrong, even 9600 are also affected by this problem.

We are not flaming it without any valid reasons. It does have problems.

Just get the Intel GMA option if thats the case. Not only it would save you the trouble but also it would be cooler

P.S Not only Dells are affected even my friend's MacBook Pro (with 8600GT) is having the the same problem. The motherboard just fails. People say that the whole GeForce 8 series for lappies is a total failure tongue.gif. Its better to opt for ATI or Intel in this case

I did heard of Macbook mobo failures.Guess nVidia screw up big time with 8-series.

nVidia should remake the graphics card line for laptops.

Dont think so because,if nVidia replace all the faulty GC,nVidia will go burst.
