Yesterday I bought macbook pro from mac city 1u instead of anywhere else, is because they offer maybank treatpoints redemption. Redeemed 90,000 points, so that's 400 bucks less from the sticker price. May be useful info for anyone who has lots of points to use.

edit: and they didn't charge 2% for using credit card, which is illegal btw.

The consumer behavior in Malaysia is totally different from the other countries. How do you expect retailers to absorb the 2% on top of the discounts "begged" by consumers? If consumers pay the recommended retail price (nett), I believe all retailers are happy to absorb the 2%.

Authorised apple retailers shouldn't charge the 2% since all the items they sell are nett.

same here..when i went there and enquired about the iMAC, those ppl there treat me as if i don't know anything aka computer noob.
And then they went on and talked amongst themselves in front of me regarding their experience buying MBP and whatever mac stuffs from singapore...
i'm like..hellloo?!?!? i'm not here to listen to your grandmother stories from singapore....

You can purchase first and convert to installments with your bank but there are charges unless the bank got promo. Eg: in Nov 10-Jan 11, Alliancebank got promo to convert purchases to 12 mths installments with zero charges.

let say u got Card A and Card B...
u use Card A to buy mbp RM6k...then u call bank say wan do balance transfer to card b...
check with card b bank c got 0% charge anot..i think all bank are different 1...

so ur debt RM6k will pass to card B with 12 month installment or more than tat...
some bank might charge processing fee...

u can go the bank page to find more info on that...
hope that helps..

Highly prefer Epicentre.

I have too many bad experience on Machine.
Mac Studio and Mac City are fine I guess.
Switch looks pretty cheap as a Premium Reseller. (Lack of demo and stock)
Smack I am not sure.
AscendZone looks like an empty store. (How they do business?)
