I got test n survey on Nikon n Canon, currently using Sony.

Color - Sony n Canon quite lively when u compare even online post up or those in blogs. Nikon quite flat.
ISO - Nikon best performance here while leaving only slightly behind on latest Canon model n Sony latest model.
AF Speed - Nikon n Canon were great while lock on moving objects.
Video capture - Sony out, Canon clear winner here over Nikon
*Repair n customer service - no comment on Nikon n Canon since am Sony. But it took them sometime to fix my camera.

Final remarks - warranty is very very crucial and the time length is important as well.
IS there any brand that offers 3 yrs warranty? I would looking for it ... and i knew which brand d hehehe~

I'm planning 2 get Canon 500D, bet i would delight you as well~
Go try it out at lowyat plaza or BB plaza

at least you wont spend much time infront of PC always do Photoshop.
If Nikon, you wil end up spend more time editing .....

Canon now got offer 3 yrs warranty which is very good bet to say~
My Sony got only 1 yr n half warranty, almost sold all d .. now left only 2 lenses

I bet YOU can get RM3150 for 500D+kitlens +4GB +Bag at BB plaza
Actually Flash unit is very crucial, I will get Nissin Di622 as well for RM450
If budget tight ... then just boost up ISO to 3200 or 6400
slight Noise is better than blur out photos .....

in terms of ISO performance D90 will be better, in fact 500D can match D90 head on unless you prefer fast shooting speed. 500D high 15 MegaPixels beats D90, when you got more pixels even you crop pictures, it will look smooth n sharp.

Since you had 500D already why pay another few thousands for D90??? ... better one shot buy Canon 7D.
I mean if you bring 500D back to Tarita n exchange for better model n top it up. Guess they would change for you.

Canon 7D is way better than D300s in many terms ... but expensive that I can't afford d price tag.

Canon EOS 7D Body Only = RM5650

450D d better ... especially you can look for nice 2nd price here in Lowyat

[ both VR n IS also great, for Sony one - go for Full Frame system then only it's SSS will works great.
