Not trying to be funny here. Both are on different league. both caters for different players. Console is for gaming. Yes, Blue rays are expensive, but hey, they still can be sold out to other players after you'd gone bored playing. Yes a pc can play pirated games, but have you ever wonder, PC games title evolve everytime? They'll keep pace to the ever changing hardwares where else in console, they have to stick to the current hardware available. You will be spending more on hardware than gaming. After 1 year, basically your hardware will turn out obsolete and the next contender is the recommended requirement for the new games.

Honestly, I feel most people hammering ps3 doesn't have a slightest idea of it. If you walkthrough the console garage sale page, you would find there ain't much owners letting go of their ps3 set. Pretty much all the console owner is happy with it.

If currently you don't have a pc, then its wise to get one as you need to do your work or surf the web leisurely. If you wish to be a hardcore gaming player, i would highly recommend ps3. who says ps3 cannot be used as a pc? you can run linux in it.

at the end of the day, it depends on your taste of game. Personally I still prefer ps3 as its still serves a good purpose for gaming. Not to mention the high resolution support 1080p at a minimal hardware.  effects, color are breathless. the only downside is working all the gaming under the gamepad.

Ps. Me no ps3 fanboy, me just voicing out what is right.

There is no such thing as a right or wrong in this case. Only your opinion. I;ve been a hardcore gamer as long as I remember, and I'm happy with my PC. I don't think PS3 sucks or is bad...I think it definetely is fun, but there is something about a PC game experience that I cant have on the console.

I do play console games too...But i think PC gaming right now is more for enthusiasts and consoles are the easier more approachable option.

I'm truly aware that there both pc & console are equally sparred. My post was create awareness to those whom just hammering the console without bringing out the facts.

Yes both system do provide a exciting gameplay in different ways. Much we know they will not cross the borderline of excitement. PC will definitely have more controls as opposed to the stagnant gamepad. If we look down in history, PC games with good titles will have a long run as compared to console. After all, we can roughly say, all the people here will have at least a computer, but not many would own a console.

This is my fair share of opinion as I too once was a hardcore gamer since 386 & atari era till today. This is just another debate like Mac Vs PC

That is just something you need to phase out from. This is the internetz...what is the internetz good for other than repeated bashing of something without facts? You have to ignore the bad and give credit to the good.

Learn from Dennis Dyack...Don't try to take on the internetz. There is no logic in forum banter that borders on bashing or rants. Sometimes I think it is a new sub culture.

for pc, u always need to upgrade...
jz look at crysis and farcry 2...
wut else can they throw at us next year...
heck i even had trouble supporting RA3...
not to forget gta4's poor optimization on the pc...

on the other hand, the ps3 itself is really powerful...
playing farcry2 on it looks better than it is on the pc...
besides, u get to play MGS4, gamespot's game of the year besides so many other awards it has won...
*
Thats the first time i heard that. All multiplatform always looks better on the PC. Out of curiosity, have you seen a pc game before? doh.gif

but u aint getting mgs4...
most 360's big hit are on the pc (halo 1 n 2, GeoW, Last Remnant are coming to pc as well and rumors of fable 2)...
on the other hand, getting a 360 for the online community is a great plus!

I'm sorry I'm not quite as enlightened like you to notice your post that you are struggling to Play RA 3 on the highest setting doh.gif I'm not one with the internetz. Yeah you are probably right...RA3 would look a ton better on the PS3 too.

Gamespot review quote:
QUOTE
Far Cry 2 looks best running on a PC, with clearer textures, better foliage, and less pop-in. The console versions also suffer from the occasional loading hitch when you're driving into a highly populated city. Another key difference is that the PC version lets you save anywhere you want, whereas the 360 and PS3 games only let you use predefined save points.

nvr said RA3 looks better on the console sleep.gif
typical flameboy lol (half of that post is anyways)...

still 1080p looks better...

as for the issue u highlighted:
"Far Cry 2 has attracted negative feedback due to a number of faults contained in the game across all platforms, such as corrupt save files, freezes, and disappearing characters. A majority of players have reported that at certain points in the game, these issues become more pronounced thereby rendering the game unplayable. As of December 2008, Ubisoft have yet to address these issues"
from wiki (together with the sources which u can click if u want)...

mgs4 best graphics buddy...
still insist on the 360 has better graphics?
*
It still doesn't talk about which platform has the better graphics for the game. You said PS3 Far Cry 2 looks better than PC.

it doesn't but it put ur points invalid on the bugs/crashes on the consoles...
again i said, 1080p on the ps3 system makes it look better...
read all my posts...

well i'm sure u got a really great high end system to play it at max rite?
*
No it doesn't because my point was a retort against your claim that Far Cry 2 on PS3 looks better then the PC which you said.

I don't have a high end system.

so ur 'retort' failed?
as i've said 1080p that the ps3 (and 360 as well) is capable of would make the final display better...

ps = upgrades from time to time just to keep up while a console can last u up to 6-10 years with similiar results...

Which you claimed was backed up by a review from Gamespot. And it doesn't back up your claim. I'm not talking about upgrade frequency. But better graphic fidelity of Far Cry 2.

I pointed out the quote directly from Gamespot which SAYS the PC version looks better.

Exactly where in it you saw PS3 version looks better I don't know. You have no links to back upyour claim so how can I take it as the truth? smile.gif I also want to buy PS3 lah...but dont give wrong info....If you think you are factually correct then prove it.
