i got a question here..
after putting concealer+foundation, then i'll put loose powder.. but then my face becomes like very powdery.. what did i do wrong?

and how to put eyeliner for those with single eyelids? open eye gone edi.. like no eyeliner like that.. =.=
*
nothing wrong. Maybe ur loose powder is not fine enuf.
But, some girls who are not used to it will say that it looks powdery, but infact it;s not. Just need to get used to it lo. Otherwise, it's time to chuch out ur loosepowder and get a new one! i heard that dodo palgantong is good and cheap. For more expensive alternative, can try Laura Mercier LP.

erm...draw thicker line? laugh.gif

Hi happy.gif

The local mags don't offer mcuh in terms of detailed make up techniques. The japanese ones like Popteen and Vivi are good but then they are in Jap after all.
I highly recommend going to youtube and looking for this girl
MichellePhan
she has some really great tutorials for make up on asian skin ^__^

AGREED..happy.gif i myself learn some skills from her.. wink.gif

Hi there, just to answer some of your questions,

nicKit : Do you still have an acne problem? The reason I'm asking is because, when you have acne, your face tends to go on the reddish side, so what i would suggest for you is, get a correcting concealer and conceal all those red spots first. The colour you should choose is green. I know that you might think...yuck, green?how is that going to conceal? Well green acts as an opposite colour to the red on your face therefore neutralizing your skin colour. Do not cake it on though, just dab on with your finger and tap it in lightly with your ring finger to blend the colour into your skin. After you have finished applying the green correcting concealer, take your normal skin coloured concealer and go over the spots you have covered with the green, this gives you a clean canvas to work on for your foundation.
As for you skin problem, I would suggest using compact/cake/powder foundation as it has a higher absorbency and it would help your face stay matte longer. Keep some pressed powder with you throughout your ceremony so that you can blot your face as the oilies hit the visible layers of your skin. As you mentioned you have acne prone and oily skin, therefore I assume that you do have acne. In this case, avoid anything too shimmery for you face. This is to avoid your face from looking even more oilier and shimmer brings more attention to your acne or acne scars. Feel free to fire questions if you need help smile.gif

munkeyflo : As for your powder problem, dont take like a whole load of powder and paste it on your face. Loose powder acts as a finisher for your foundation, so what you want to do is take a face/powder brush and dip it lightly into your powder and tap off any excess. Whats left on your brush with a very light hand, brush it into your face in big circular motions. At the same time you will be buffing in your foundation with your loose powder so you have that smooth flawless skin effect.

As for your eyes, maybe a picture of it? so i can give you the best possible method to draw on your liner smile.gif

hope this helped you gals <3
toodles!

Mmmm i havent tried that brand, but you could use any corrector and try it out on your skin. How your concealer reacts to your skin really depends on your skin type and how well it works for you so, dont be afraid to experiement, you can try stuff from a cheaper range to the more expensive and see which suits you best. I personally like the NYX concealer in a jar because of its creamy consistency it stays and does not melt off or sweat off as we stay in a very humid country. So far it hasn't hurt my face yet, so yeah i recommend that. It's easy on the wallet and it works wonders. They have the correctors in green, lavender and yellow. Do let me know if you have any other questions.

Sgdrugstore is selling stuff from NYX, so you can take a look at his page to see his latest sprees. I strongly recommend him as he is reliable. I also wrote a review about him on my blog you can check it out along with the other tutorials. smile.gif

Added on April 2, 2009, 10:33 amP/S to qinwen : Dont pack too many things on your face because you have acne problems. It might make it worse. But if you have to just do a little correcting on the pimple area, cover it up with your usual concealer and apply a very very light cover of foundation and finish off with powder. You would want to look at cosmetics that do not clog your pores. I also recommend you trying foundations that are on the higher end range because those are made of better quality therefore eliminating some problems other lower end brands might do to your face.

nickit : Yes, theres a green concealer tongue.gif...check my blog page to read up more about them and how it reacts as a corrector. Hope it helps you

let me know girls if you need help with anything else happy.gif...good luck !

wondering whether isit a correct place to post here...
Actually.. Is it advisable to use Extra Virgin Olive Oil as a natural makeup remover... I was previously using Kose PERFECT makeup remover. and then I came across a video in youtube stating that olive oil makes great make up remover and can remove makeup thoroughly. Out of curiosity i went to try it out. and it really did work.

My question is.. Will it actually cause you pimples at the eye area? because its so oily? blink.gif

I don't think extra virgin olive oil will cause any problem, cuz I used to remove makeup using too.

shud be (correct me if im wrong):

#1 concealer
#2 foundation, 2-way cake (whatever u like la)
#3 loose powder
#4 eyeshadow
#5 eyeliner
#6 mascara
#7 blusher
#8 lipgloss
#9 lipstick (if u apply)

i heard a lot bout BB cream too and a lot of ppl selling here.
heard it is quite good but personally i neva try b4.

Hi,
Actually, if u apply concealer b4 foundation, the concealer will dissappear in ur foundation. It is best to apply foundation first b4 concealer and finish it with loose powder to set ur face. happy.gif I learnt this from various makeup Gurus on youtube. happy.gif

U may use waterproof eyeliner pencil or use the liquid eyeliner or eyeliner gel..
I prefer liquid eyeliner because we can create a very thin liner at our inner eyelid and it looks so natural.. if there is any function or dinner which u want ur eye liner to look more obvious, u may use the eyeliner gel...
Chanel or Kanebo's liquid eyeliner is nice.
Bobbi brown's eyeliner gel is perfect!

uptill today i don't use foundation cause i read somewhere a while ago it was a dermatologist article saying foundation is not good for young skin i don't remember why but it will cause your skin to age faster or something like that which is why mostly older women only use foundation... i also not so good in makeup usually all i do is

1. powder
2. eye shadow if im bothered
3. eyeliner but only at the bottom because i can never do it on the top of my lid
4. curl eye lash then only put mascara so the mascara wont clump
5. lip gloss

and im done!!! lol
