It works. The method Wahkiz mentioned works for me. I have to restart my Iphone for it to work. The map I downloaded is the one posted at the first page, it's the Klang Valley map which is bout 40+ MB. However, I notice it cannot be zoomed to the most detail part. Is there any map that can zoom in more for Klang Valley? Thanks.

Hi TS,

Good job for the instructions for using GMDL. I have created maps using GMDL to use in offlinemap 3.0 (fixed the file permision bug in iphone 3.xx).

For those who want to install offlinemap 3.0,
1) download http://iphoneofflinemap.googlecode.com/fil...phoneos-arm.deb
2) ftp into any directories of your iphone eg: /var/mobile/
3) ssh into your iphone:
cd /var/mobile
dpkg -i OfflineMaps_3.0_PREVIEW_iphoneos-arm.deb
4) Respring (for those who don't know how, just off and on your iphone)

Anyway TS, i noticed that using Maps without cached maps from GMDL, i can see the block numbers after zooming in. This is something i noticed from iphone 3.xx onwards. But when i use GMDL maps, i couldn't see the block numbers. Do you know how to use GMDL to get the block number details? The max zoom that i can find is "1", but it doesn't show block number.

When i use GMDL in Browse tab, zooming in i can see block number though.

Hope you can shed some light! smile.gif

for FW 3.1.2, follow evildan's instruction first.

then ssh to your iphone or use mobile terminal and do the following:

$ cd /private/var/mobile/Library/Caches
$ ln -s Maps/MapTiles/ MapTiles

Offline Maps will work again. All you need to do is select Copy (not Link) the map you have. This will copy the map into the cache. Larger map will take longer time to copy.
Then in Maps application, if you don't see the map yet, simply move your screen around with finger or zoom in/out and the offline map will appear.
