Sorrie here, I'm kinda blur about those original software. My question is : I need a Original licience key for Office use. So while im using a original licience for Window XP home edition, I cant transfer to office use right? I need to have a Window XP office edition in order to use in office ? the 2nd question is. I planned to get 2nd hand, bcoz its cheaper. but how can i verified whether its original or not? Should I summit my name to Mircosoft or anything? Let's say if someone come to office and check whether we are using original licience code. What should i show them to verify? Thanks for ur time This post has been edited by babybolster: Nov 26 2008, 10:57 PM

Is your current PC's Windows ori? because from what you mentioned in the first post, you seem to be saying you're using ori Windows XP Home

um it's like this. There's no office edition of Windows XP. Only Home and Professional version. Both are legal for office use as long as you have the license sticker on the PC and original installer CD.
but be aware that in order to be able to transfer to another PC, your Windows must be Retail version, not OEM. OEM versions (usually shipped and preinstalled with branded PCs like DELL, HP, etc) cannot be transferred. They must die with the PC it was installed on.
Furthermore, you must also look into other licensed software like Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PP, Outlook, etc), unless you're going the open source (free) way using Open Office.

XP retail version if i'm not mistaken, can be activated a few times (not simultaneously). But after that, you will need to call Microsoft to activate it.

QUOTE(babybolster @ Nov 28 2008, 04:15 AM) why is your OEM so special? can reactive so many times? IF you have quite numbers of PC to get licensed, you could opt for special licensing scheme from Microsoft. You'll usually get it cheaper than buying an individual license for each PCs (which cost around rm280+ per PC). Same goes for Microsoft Office.
