You can feel the bass but it doesn't pull your chest kind of subwoofer.
Besides active underseat subwoofer price is almost comparable with normal wooden box subwoofer minus an amp to pump it. |

but if u want something extra from it, i don't think u can get heart vibrating bass out of it. |

There is also soundstream stealth series 12 inch shallow sub which performs almost on par with ordinary sub. You still able to enjoy heart thumping bass.

no idea, can power on just no sound.... my accessories shop friend helped me to send it for repair, RM80 damage (seller said he will compensate)
the faulty part is a piece of metal though.... The sound quality is quite solid, probably due to the aluminium casing... This post has been edited by Austin: Dec 10 2008, 04:19 PM |

Music type: Pop, Country, Vocal, Jazz, R&B Im considering between these active subs, as it seems to be easily available compare to other brands: 1) Epsilon 2) MBQ which is better? any other alternative recommendation is most welcome. image for epsilon: http://www.zerotohundred.com/newforums/ice...-subwoofer.html image for MBQ: http://www.maxaudio.com.my/index.php?act=v...&productId=2869 |

I am using an MBQ too... definetely not for Bass freaks... If you intend to take your family in the car, this unit suits perfectly...else go for 3000w with monoblock amp...
I saw a guy installing 2 amps..(mono block & 3000w mohican 4 ch) with 2x12" subs boxed up on a Kenari.....OMG... the car was literally jumping when powered up....quite close to glass shattering... |

QUOTE(junlone @ Nov 8 2015, 08:13 PM) New or used bro?for new one,i think around 800 to 900 ringgit you can obtain good active sub.such as pioneer, kenwood. But,you can obtain used one,at par or better performance than new one, with less price tag.brand such as alphine gold,carroz..addzest. But,there's a catch.hunt for used but quality one is like finding a needle in a haystack.need patience..a lot of patience.but the result is pure satisfaction.for example, recently i manage to obtain kicker hideaway active sub, market price 300usd.(around rm1400+-).got it for only rm400.and a sony 4 channel amp for just rm100. Honestly,im avoiding brand such as the m*q.but its only my personal opinion.rest its up to you.. |

I feel that current stock unit and driver sound quality is not that bad after all. I own a J spec with a double din player (bought in promotion period last year). The mid-bass is quite alright to my opinion.
I just wonder why they installed the back driver on the door this time.? |

QUOTE(justin_nys @ May 6 2016, 09:34 AM) Why? Don't leave the discussion hanging I suppose this is not for very picky audiophile but just regular folks who wants to have kick to their stock speakers but on limited budget? QUOTE(Lowyatian @ May 6 2016, 10:00 AM) The reason being....it a waste of money.....tried one b4......in just a few weeks i took it off and get a real sub instead...... It all depends on one's ears, some will say not worth it coz have higher expectation, but for some others good enough. I for one used to use big 12s from top US brands like JL Audio in the back either in free air or in a custom box powered by hundreds of watts of US amps, but now I just use a pair of China 10' underseat powered subs. Sure the under seats will not generate as much kick and as loud as the huge 12s but now I'm quite content already with those cheap underseats, enough to bring just a bit more live and punch to the music without breaking my bank. I guess as I get older my priorities and expectations already shifted as now I don't need to have a system that can shake my whole car! Haha...What I really mean is better work on your mid bass 1st....some ppl just doesnt realized that what they really want is actually the mid bass sounds which the underseat sub actually delivering....better get an 8 inches mid bass n drive it kao kao..... |

I have settled with Kenwood KSC-SW11
Yes. It doesn't give you that "boomboom" effect from a bass drum but more "thump" from a bass guitar It does the job well in filling the low freq and I am satisfied with it as it doesn't take up my boot space |

Underseat 8" subwoofer imho is not worth buying. Either you get a proper subwoofer at the back or just buy a proper midrange driver....

Recently installed MB Quart active sub, satisfied with it.
I just want a little kick on the bass, the box bass kinda too much for me. |

Underseat subs... Well... I am using an underseat that is branded (I suppose) and i just installed a ported box subwoofer in myvi for half the price of the underseat sub alone (Exclude install, wiring and workmanship)... To be honest, it worked better, responded better and sounded better than the underseat and is richer in most ways... Now i finally understand why so many ICE sifus keep emphasising on using a boot sub rather than underseats... If you want very good bass in a car, go for the subs that fit in your boot... If you travel a lot and need the boot, then your only option is to fit a pair of underseats to get a solid bass thump

If you travel a lot and need the boot, then your only option is to fit a pair of underseats to get a solid bass thump Which underseat sub are you using and how much did you buy it? How much also the ported sub? Have you factored in the price of the power amp to drive the ported sub? Because underseat subs usually already come with built in amps, so to compare with big sub boxes, you need to also include the necessary power amps (or compare with built-in powered sub boxes).Of course the main limitation of underseat subs is physics, more exactly space as it only has very limited space to work with and therefore cannot move as much air to generate big bass as regular sub box. |

Because underseat subs usually already come with built in amps, so to compare with big sub boxes, you need to also include the necessary power amps (or compare with built-in powered sub boxes). I bought Infinity Basslink SM 8" from xciteaudio.comOf course the main limitation of underseat subs is physics, more exactly space as it only has very limited space to work with and therefore cannot move as much air to generate big bass as regular sub box. RMS 125 watts and built in class D amp (written on the box but who am I to judge) Has good bass in my opinion but maybe not boomy enough for me. Maybe if you frequently listen to soft music and those usual pop or jazz genres then it would work wonders since it is mainly focused on SQ. The other sub i bought is a cap ayam brand audioquart (Huricane series if not wrong) and also normal audioquart 2 channel amp to power it. Add in installation and sub box and wiring (did not change HU and previously installed Hi/Lo converter for the underseat so no need to pay for another one), only cost me 550. Sub rms is said to be 500 at 4 ohms but i'm not so sure and the 2 channel amp i am not sure how much power, but the box did say 180W x 2 bridged at 4 ohms so that's that. Quality wise, the Infinity takes it all since it has nice clarity and a clearer bass thump which costed 1.1k alone exclude installation. But since i just wanted boomy bass, the cap ayam fitted the bill. Just not sure how long the amp will last |

QUOTE(kevyeoh @ Nov 15 2016, 08:14 AM) The 6.5" speaker... have you tried demo or listening on those 8" active woofer under the seat? Maybe you OK with it but to me... totally not acceptable.... And anything slightly better than the underseat thing? I am ok with a box behind a car actually. As just want to strengthen the base more. Any suggestion? As adviceble is the sub in a box or sub mounted to the car is better? As my friend is driving a sedan car, does the bass wi be weakened since the woofer behind the car is far away from the driver's ear? And hopefully does not remove the factory speaker just wanted to add a woofer or sub woofer Can settle everything in rm500? With amp. This post has been edited by Averllen96: Nov 15 2016, 12:39 PM |

Depends on the loudness..
Go for demo...underseat seat use small driver (6-8inch) It need to be close to your hearing, and the air flow available not enough for high volume.. A box is the trunk is around RM100-300 Driver (subwoofer) around RM300-1200 An amp either 2-channel or 4 channel (drive front speaker also) cost a lot more... For RM500 can only get active underseat Or used subwoofer box, sub driver and amp..might be.. If youre satisfied with 6-8 inch driver for bass, then go for it...i think low volume is ok. For me, even 10inch is not enough...currently using 12 inch sub |

Hello sifus here, just recently got a new Mazda 2, the sound system is ok, but i want a little bit more bass, so considering underseat woofer like Nakamichi. What i want to ask is can i just use my stock car sound system and add the woofer without adding an additional amplifier?

I would say it fulfill my needs to just improve the bass sound of std audio but of course it would not match traditional big sub box. My criticism of this thing is the settings of the power amp gain is not good quality, can have high humming distortion on higher gain settings so it was difficult to set up just right. |

QUOTE(Drian @ Nov 23 2016, 02:10 PM) Actually almost all of them perform the same since they are sealed compact subsThe difference maybe on the build quality and clarity of bass instead of loudness since they are predominantly for SQ If you require rumbling bass, go for ported box sub in the boot (slightly pricier since all of the components are sold separately but has more bang for your buck) Those underseats, maybe if you like to listen to chinese genres, or modern songs instead of EDM, bassy songs, they do the job, even the cap ayams (MBQ, American Sound, etc.) |

Underseat would do the job fine but it won't be cheap tho if you want high quality stuffMy installer recommends adding amp to drive door speakers for a richer sound and also you will notice better bass notes but it all also depends on your HU Btw what car are you planning on installing it into? I heard my installer say that different cars have different type of bass response since the cabin space plays a major factor in how bass response sound to our ears. |

Underseat subwoofer is simple, just need to tap from the speaker. |

Hi
Good day.. Recently I got a MBQ 8 inch sub woofer from LAZADA. Have DIY installed it in my car, it is good but after a month of using it it got problem It got a lot of rattling sound. took it to a accessories shop for opinion why it is such. I was told that the speaker is damaged. I took out the speaker & saw alot of black rubbery thing falling out. Is there a replacement for the speaker ONLY?? And where to buy it?? Any info will be appreciated. Thank you & have anice day. Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year. |

The only reason i can think of why it turn to this is because its very old and was not kept well by the seller.Good day.. Recently I got a MBQ 8 inch sub woofer from LAZADA. Unfortunately, you cant really repair these underseat subs since their speakers are not conventional aftermarket speakers, they are custom built to fit the sub only from what i know. Now what you can do is see whether Lazada or the seller got give you warranty or not so you can make an exchange. If not and you still wish to just own an underseat, go to xciteaudio.com and look for Kevin, they sell some high quality stuff over there and mine is still working until today (installed like half a year ago) and its able to work quite hard and boom quite loud. Plus they give you one year warranty as well. Merry Xmas and Happy New Year |

pm me if any1 looking for a good woofer + amp
Im letting go a hert HE 2 channel + 12" focal P30a with box for SQL bass setup If you are into bass, the 8" active sub wont do u any good as it do now hav the space for the base to be produce. Once you go try a decent bass, u wont go for those underseat or active small subwoofer. |
