sorry for replying in an old thread... but im having problems... i installed east asian language pack wif the xp cd... msn, internet explorer displays chinese with no problem... but other software like google chrome, itunes etc. can't display chinese it shows boxes... i tried to change the language for non-unicode programs to chinese prc but an error came up saying
"Setup was unable to install the chosen locale. Please contact your system adminstrator." but im already logged in as an adminstrator... i also tried this in safe-mode but still no difference... Anyone got a solution for me? >< thx in advance

I suggest,
1.
overwrite standard set up computer's c:\windows\inf\intl.inf
to your problematic c:\windows\inf\intl.inf

2.
copy standard set up computer's c:\windows\font\*.*
(about 230MB)
to your problematic c:\windows\font\

* this is not simple copy, but font install process(alert windows will appear)

3.
apply locale u want
..
in my case..no erred, good luck
