I already read it...see here :

When will the Celcom broadband Internet service be improved? Currently, Celcom GPRS and 3G broadband Internet services are anything but broadband. In fact, they are extremely “narrowband”. Many times it is worse than dial-up connection. When I am away from home I use Celcom broadband Internet to download my emails. It usually takes several hours to complete the download. Most of the time there is no transmission. – Saw Swee Tong

There are a lot of variables with regard to the speeds actually achieved since it would depend on how strong the signal is, the time of the day the service is being used (peak/non-peak) and also the customers’ device quality (inferior radio and chipsets). However, we have done benchmark tests and have managed to get more than 80% of the speeds advertised at certain areas and times. For really good surfing and downloading experience, all the customer needs is about 300kbps consistently.

did he answer the question????
WHEN WILL THE CELCOM BROADBAND INTERNET SERVICE BE IMPROVED?????
He Don T answer At All...!!!!
How come he can become CEO...damn..!!all bullshit and politic!

True, they should at least provide more information too in their website. There's not much information in their website but luckily there is no contract for Celcom Broadband so at least will still able to downgrade. smile.gif

Reference is made to your recent e-mail.

In clarifying your situation, kindly be informed that our record
indicates your broadband speed has been throttled on 1 February 2009
as the allocated data volume of 5GB has been exceeded.

We wish to share with you that 5GB Fair Usage Policy is to ensure all
customer enjoy the services equally. Customers with current usage
exceed 5GB will not be charge and they can still enjoy the service.

Once Celcom's monitoring system has detected your breach of 5GB,
Celcom will send out the SMS and immediately proceed to reduce or
throttle your speed based on your current package, if you are on
Broadband Advance (3.6Mbps), you will be reduced to 128 kbps and if
you are on Broadband Basic (384kbps) you will be reduced to 64kbps.

On that note, we wish to inform you that in order to enjoy internet
connection at the speed reached up to 3.6Mbps customers must ensured
that:

1. Be within the HSDPA coverage area
2. Have subscribed to a HSDPA package
3. Use a HSDPA Device

Similarly, ' up to 3.6Mbps ' statement with regards to the speed
offered by Broadband Advance means that we do not in any way promise
or guarantee customers the 3.6Mbp speed as this service is offered on
a best effort basis and there are many other contributing factors out
of Celcom¿s control in obtaining speed therefore the broadband speed
cannot be guaranteed.

It is hoped that the above could clarify the situation and we
appreciate your kind understanding in this circumstance.

It is a pleasure serving you and we would like to take this
opportunity to thank you for your continuous support and contribution
to Celcom.

~sigh~
