QUOTE(Altair19 @ Nov 28 2008, 03:48 PM) Pls learn to read properly. His AVG is blocking the warez website that he wants to visit, because it was deemed dangerous. All he has to do is uninstall AVG, simple as that. And why are you promoting the software everywhere? You're not getting commisions to do so, are you? |

QUOTE(bergeryap87 @ Nov 24 2008, 02:26 PM) last time i fix one computer. one super weird problem happen, even after came back from warranty. the notebook manufacturer oso dunno how to fix that. once i simply play with it and uninstall the norton, the problem dissapear. all this anti virus is the most useless thing in the world. I have used Vista and Windows 7, never got infected by virus, except when using XP. You should edit your statement, seems too childish to blame the OS entirely...u install antivirus, but if kena malware or spyware then have to purchase adi. damn stupid. mights well dun give out free anti virus moreover, if you ever own a PC using Window OS. your comp definitely have virus. whether u got anti virus or not. i can assure that. if your comp no virus, then dun call urself using windows |

Gosh...This is the most foolish thread I had ever seen in LYN. Please stop asking help to solve problem regarding WAREZ, either you attempt to enter the website or you're trying to download them.
Cracked software and keygen are treated as malware by every antivirus. Even though you had accessed the WAREZ website successfully and downloaded those WAREZ, AVG antivirus will whack them out as well. For those irresponsible internet users who mentioned that they NEVER install antivirus and any security protection tools, do you know that you are trying to harm other internet users as well? What you are doing is merely selfish, if your machine stayed offline all the time, it's your business. But when you go for online, please, install antivirus and antispyware. it's not about to protect yourself only, but everyone as well. This post has been edited by chrisling: Dec 2 2008, 12:05 PM |

I think the Anti-virus programmer team not so foolish to create such program to ate RAM heavily, they know most of phishing tactic, spyware, malware etc..and threatning websites..so its for your own pc good..and i think most of anti-virus do not cause lag when gaming....maybe to satisfy this old mentality people some companies even create Gamer's Edition of Anti-virus

but I think it's better not to use any antivirus if you wanna use AVG, AVG lags the whole computer.. and the protection from AVG free not so good.. why don consider to buy KIS? Rm20-Rm30+ a genuine serial key for 1 year.. good though

QUOTE(bergeryap87 @ Nov 24 2008, 02:15 PM) actually, i felt the best way is to uninstall all the damn anti virus software. lol-edi personally not been using anti virus software, after understanding how a virus works. sometimes, u got all this antivirus software oso your comp kena virus, then have to reformat. mights well dont use anti virus rite? and if you dont use anti virus, there will be no notification for you about your comp is attacked by virus. but that doesnt mean your comp is dangerous. if you got anti virus, watever device u plug in ur comp, sure got notification of AUTORUN32.exe this kinda stuff come out. but it is not harmful to your computer rite? conclusion, take off the damn anti virus software. i've been fine and my comp workign pretty well all the time. maybe once in a year i format it, just to clear some stuff. thats about it. yapster if u dint get an anti-virus u dont even noe ur comp hav been already infected...till...bsd... QUOTE(hussam_o_r @ Dec 13 2008, 02:06 AM) what "sits her"? the way you worded it, makes it sound like a sex act anyway, here's a little something for those still thinking antivirus is useless From: http://miekiemoes.blogspot.com/2008/08/i-d...use-i-have.html CODE I don't use an Antivirus, because I have never been infected... ... said the user while his computer was crippled with malware. His answer didn't make sense anyway, because how could he know that he was (never been) infected if no scanner would alert him? He asked for my help because his Internet Explorer browser crashed frequently and his computer was crawling. Although he did get popups as well, he didn't really see this as a problem because he had a good popup blocker. O_o No way malware was causing this (according to him). It was always been like that..... (so you can imagine how long he was infected already...) And yes, I've found malware from years ago: DollarRevenue crap, EliteMedia, leftovers from the Alcan worm, and a recent Zlob Media variant. Time to make him aware that his computer really is infected - so the only way to show the facts is to install an Antivirus... which he did. He was shocked once the scanner started to detect and delete the files. Funny part here was, a HUGE amount of infected files were present in his Limewire shared/complete folder (because of the Alcan Worm, which was luckily already disabled). So it was an extra shock for him since more than 1000 files were already detected and deleted there. After all, we could clean everything and I'm sure he would never uninstall his Antivirus again. :-) A shocktherapy is really needed once in a while. |
