actually, i felt the best way is to uninstall all the damn anti virus software.
i personally not been using anti virus software, after understanding how a virus works.
sometimes, u got all this antivirus software oso your comp kena virus, then have to reformat. mights well dont use anti virus rite?

and if you dont use anti virus, there will be no notification for you about your comp is attacked by virus. but that doesnt mean your comp is dangerous. if you got anti virus, watever device u plug in ur comp, sure got notification of AUTORUN32.exe this kinda stuff come out. but it is not harmful to your computer rite?

conclusion, take off the damn anti virus software. i've been fine and my comp workign pretty well all the time. maybe once in a year i format it, just to clear some stuff. thats about it.

last time i fix one computer. one super weird problem happen, even after came back from warranty. the notebook manufacturer oso dunno how to fix that. once i simply play with it and uninstall the norton, the problem dissapear. all this anti virus is the most useless thing in the world.

u install antivirus, but if kena malware or spyware then have to purchase adi. damn stupid. mights well dun give out free anti virus

moreover, if you ever own a PC using Window OS. your comp definitely have virus. whether u got anti virus or not. i can assure that.
if your comp no virus, then dun call urself using windows

banks and company use anti virus bcoz they need it. their files are important. the difference between they all and us is, they got money to pay for GENUINE software which got full protection.

but we as normal consumer wouldnt want to pay for that, and that is why we only have free software to use. if free software to use oso can kena virus. i really wont go n download and use it. is really a waste of time for me. i rather spend half n hour reformating my comp.

im saying that anti virus is useless based on the point of we all as consumer. not company and banks. im working now, so i do understand the need to anti virus in company PC, but not personal. hhaha

cheers

HAHAHAHHA GOOD JOKE, n00b. Can post in Jokes Heaven? laugh.gif
You sure love to format your pc. I haven't got the need to format it even after 5 years, thanks to a combination of good computing practice, good firewall, antivirus, antispyware and secured browser.

Seriously, I wanted to refrain myself from flaming that guy, but wtf, does he listen to what he is saying ?

LOL... my reaction is exactly the same as the look on my avatar when I read his replies. And btw, my PC has been relatively problem-free since day 1, thanks to the softwares I mentioned above, and they're all totally FREE.

To TS, warez sites are full of trojan horses and viruses. You shouldn't blame AVG for blocking them, it's trying to protect you. But I advise you to get a better antivirus. AVG is a really weak antivirus - it gives a lot of false alarms and yet lets through a lot of common viruses. And when it does detect the viruses, it cannot remove or delete the infected files.

try it. helped me when my anti virus screwed me

Pls learn to read properly. His AVG is blocking the warez website that he wants to visit, because it was deemed dangerous. All he has to do is uninstall AVG, simple as that.

And why are you promoting the software everywhere? You're not getting commisions to do so, are you?

the way you worded it, makes it sound like a sex act laugh.gif

anyway, here's a little something for those still thinking antivirus is useless

From: http://miekiemoes.blogspot.com/2008/08/i-d...use-i-have.html
CODE
I don't use an Antivirus, because I have never been infected...

... said the user while his computer was crippled with malware. His answer didn't make sense anyway, because how could he know that he was (never been) infected if no scanner would alert him?
He asked for my help because his Internet Explorer browser crashed frequently and his computer was crawling. Although he did get popups as well, he didn't really see this as a problem because he had a good popup blocker. O_o
No way malware was causing this (according to him). It was always been like that..... (so you can imagine how long he was infected already...)
And yes, I've found malware from years ago: DollarRevenue crap, EliteMedia, leftovers from the Alcan worm, and a recent Zlob Media variant.

Time to make him aware that his computer really is infected - so the only way to show the facts is to install an Antivirus... which he did.
He was shocked once the scanner started to detect and delete the files. Funny part here was, a HUGE amount of infected files were present in his Limewire shared/complete folder (because of the Alcan Worm, which was luckily already disabled). So it was an extra shock for him since more than 1000 files were already detected and deleted there.
After all, we could clean everything and I'm sure he would never uninstall his Antivirus again. :-)
A shocktherapy is really needed once in a while.
