Ok, well, I am not trying to open another thread for this US iTunes account issue again. However, I have done some search in the forum and the internet about opening an US iTunes account without credit card, but I believe the previous methods mentioned all do not work with the current iTunes. First, the redemption code from the TuneCore has gone down, second, the method without using redemption code doesn't work also when I chose "None" for the payment then filled in everything (US address, etc), when I pressed "continue" it just appear an error saying that I haven't filled in entire form (but I did).

Anyone can help with this issue? I also found out that some of you said you guys are using US iTunes account and can download free music, etc. How you guys do that??? And the Genius playlists thing, how you guys use it? Since you guys still have to pay for the recommended songs right???

genius playlist no need to pay..they only collect our database..and generate the genius playlist based on category type..

looks like u need to purchase iTunes Store Gift Card to do that. try find the smallest denomination then.

yup last night i also have tried the method of None in Payment as the option appears in the AppStore, but even if u have filled all the forms correctly it will tell Card Expired although selected None in payment box.

if so then u gonna need iTunes Store gift card to open your account. in case u wanna do that myb u wanna find someone here that sells them. last time i purchased from etrade_pj. he sold physical gift card at discounted price (at that time even lower than the price denoted on the card). pretty good deal for physical card.

but if u r going for bigger denomination credit, myb u wanna follow civic98 link. btw i havent tried that previously.

btw the TuneCore free coupon code method wont work anymore as the promotion already expired.
but yeah, myb there's another way that i'm not aware of. myb someone here can point TS to the right direction?
hope someone here can tell a way to create free account if there's any. it should come in handy for people that wanna get a taste of iTunes Store before committing any purchase.

so that means TS already tried the method and it doesn't work anymore.

plus, u can check at the comments on the techwired site. look at the comments at the bottom area.

dont just shoot people and tell them to do homework.

wat does TS wants? start an US acc or? kindly explain, or TS by hook or by crook must register an account using tat method?

the T & C already had the location stuff, just that the Cupertino folks moved it up to make it clear that they may do it at any time.

TS apparently wants to start a US account, since all the best & coolest stuff is there.

some links provided here, for you to get the iTunes Store account. bear in mind, Apple has made it clear that they may start tracking at any time, and they reserve the right to deny service to foreign customers (like some people here) at any time.
my advice, don't keep too much cash in the store account...

btw, me just noticed that agreement when proceeding download on iTunes 8.0.2 last night. suddenly my credit balance was gone. i was afraid on that time that they r doing some checking of account based on IP address. but then after i've deauthorised and signed out, and sign in and perform authorization again, the balance came back. phew.

Ya, it works again... i created a UK and a US acc

i don't understand why i can;t create an account. i still do not have the option of choosing the 'none' option while choosing the form of payment, there is no such option. helpp

The Genius thingy is not very useful isn't it. when u click the genius playlist button on ur ipod touch, it asks you to sync with ur itunes in order co create it, so troublesome.
