LOL... it sometimes can be related to something that scare them a bit. Er.... you know the feeling you sit roller coaster? Something like that, scary but exciting, a rush of adrenaline.
My Keera does that when she see plastic bag move in my room. Also when she sees feathers or something that gives her a shock at first.

helu! i'm elee..i'm a newbie here... and to sugar gliders too. i now own Don Giancarlo or DG (i've always wanted an Italian boyfriend.. smile.gif ) who's around 2 1/2 months old (pet safari told me he's more than 3 mnths.. but a kind person from pet shack told me that he's actually only 2 1/2 mnths..). i've had him for....errr.... 19 days til today... anyway...been reading the forum and i find it super useful and super interesting... thanks a lot. i just have one question... when do you guys actually play and interact with ur gliders? the thing is... i'm not available at home during the day nowadays as my semester just begun 2 weeks ago. and during night time... i try to play him until a certain time.. let's say 2am... then i put him back in the cage... then i start feeling guilty of leaving him to play alone. so.. any suggestions? smile.gif thanx. smile.gif
Welcome elee. The staff at pet safari don't really know how to see the age. They just agak agak and listen to what the supplier says. You are considered lucky coz alot of people who get from pet safari has joeys that are only 3 weeks OOP or younger. You wanna meet up so I can check his health?
Anyway, leaving your joey at home.... normally it's ok as they sleep during the day but then you will lose precious bonding time. Joeys bond best when you carry them around while they are asleep in a pouch. But what you are doing is what some working keepers would do. They leave their joeys at home and come back to play with them till late night. What time you normally play with him? You need to do it constantly everyday or you won't be able to have a close bond with it. Also leave a worn tshirt with your sweat and smell coz it would give your joey some security and also to like your scent.

Ofcourse astronouts are astronouts, those people that goes to outerspace lah...
The researchers don't study the astronouts but the astronout that went carried their research material to monitor their working condition in the outerspace. And they are medical and bio-tech research.
The researchers don't study gliders, but they study medicals, nutrition, chemical compound, analysis and so on. Their field of studies and research is vast. That makes them well versed about all stuff including foods, bacterias, microbes and such.
Since I couldn't talk medical or bio-tech talk, I enlighten them about the world of pets, which was very interesting to them smile.gif

*gee, sounds like I'm not welcomed here anymore, my bad to have dropped by then...*
You are always welcome. Just some people got problems.
It is interesting to know about the food and microbes. Lucky you to know them.

I don't think it's to do with astronaut field of study and KP doesn't sound defensive to me. It's more like since they research most general things in detail like foods, bacteria and microbes etc, they shared some info on honey and it's contents.
General info on foods alone may not help to determine how good the food is for gliders, but if the info is passed to someone more experienced in gliders, it makes a difference.
True true. Also, glider research is still new, as they have only been pets for the last 20 odd years in the USA.

Hi elee,
I'm a noob too
SGs are nocturnal, so your being away during the day is a good time for him to sleep I guess.. Consider putting in lots of toys and a wodent wheel (it cracks me up whenever I say that). My female joey is that way too, always rushing out when I put her back in her cage. Hopefully you can add a mate for him
How's your boys doing? I think I forgot to return you one of your feeding cups
