Look at it this way, I am sure those who have done this modding are aware that the HDD mod will definitely void the xbox warranty. And all of us are prepared that we won't be able to claim warranty should anything happened to our hard disk.

However, if it's a 3ROD, as I am aware, we are reporting the 3ROD back to MS Singapore and when the machine is ready they will be calling you to get the replacement, (correct me if I am wrong) and you will straight away exchange your 3ROD with a refurbished set...

i am assuming that all the folder names don't make sense at all in terms of relating it to any game right?

as i know if there's error when moving over the folders, it could be a couple of files in a particular folder is corrupted.

You're right bro, most of the time spent would be on figuring out the hex editing part.

The trick I think is to change it on the 400 hex value to the one indicated. Then counter check it with winhex as it will then show what you have changed.

QUOTE(juine @ Dec 1 2008, 01:21 PM)
what i did was.. made a bootable usb pendrive and place hddhackr.com 0.91 version and hddss.bin

after that i only boot up with the wd250gb and detected with hddhackr -f after i flashed it, it asked me to turn off the pc and restart after 10sec, i waited like 15sec

but i get the same shit over and over again.. saying the sector 16 thing..

i dont get a msg that the hdd will be compatible to xbox 360..

- after i check in xbox-scence several people having the same issues as mine.. and some of them were using the same mobo as i was using. some people got it to work around by using via sata pci card to flash it.

well anyone with 965p board got it to work? w or anyone stay at JB so i can go your house.. and you help me flash it w...

bro, i have the same issue as well. most probably like bro mmx mentioned, it would be that the hdd being formatted under windows previously, hence it's not detecting now.

it could also be how the bootable usb is being setup....
i setup my floppy under windows 98 se bootable, and realised that it's the main cause that i failed in flashing the hdd.
coz it could be due the bootable disk create some windows properties onto the hdd when it load in msdos...

i think that's the issue, that's what i encountered on my first hdd
i use floppy, so i just right click and create a msdos startup disk....

@mmx yeah i think it's the hexing part as well as the initial stages of flashing the hdd. apart from that i think should be ok.
