i use CIMB itrade for long time. i use computer & my samsung hp to buy/sell share online. So long no problem. the customer service also very quick response .
*
I have totally different experience for this one; quick response. My remiser slow response, or no response. My email to them (two of them, they are colleagues and sort of "helping out each other's job") usually either late response or zero response. I'd to wait for few days for them to finally do the job for me (ie. fund transfer etc). And they also made mistakes so often (at least more than 3 times along the way). Since I had stocks in HK and US and Bursa, so I'd 3 currency accounts within one itrade account. When I told them how to handle my pay/sell transactions on foreign stocks, they just ends up did it wrongly sometimes (aka 2 to 3 times so far). Sigh! And when I questioned them, they just avoid admitting mistakes and so on. Thing is, itrade's report is one of the worst I'd ever seen. There is no record of proof to show me details of my online transaction (ie. my selection on the "settle currency"), nowhere showing it at all! And at the end of the day, the report summary email to me has no accuracy since it's without fees inside (and again, no details of info of my transaction ie. the above mentioned "settle currency" that I chosen). You have to wait for T+3 to see the real info updated with fees etc. for foreign stocks and only the next day for local stocks. And then, the Account Summary page do not show accurate information for a long time. I think only updates every few times a month (to display the exact money in each of the currency account)?. So there is no way I can see my remaining HKD, USD and RM in my relative 3 accounts. And then after 3 days when money in, oops, wrong currency account! And I wanted to shout but then, NO WHERE I CAN PROOF SINCE NO REPORT AT ALL THAT I CAN FIND TO SHOW MY ORIGINAL TRANSACTION DETAILS, NOT EVEN THE TRANSACTION CONFIRMATION BOX!

My experience from Jupiter is a totally opposite. The response is quick. Usually within 1 hour, I will receive reply email from them with proper solution or proceeded my request. And whenever there is unresolved issue, they will continue to talk to me without any delay. And sometimes they also made mistake, but they admit the mistake and will say sorry to me. This is good since everyone made mistakes, I can live with that. The night report that email to me has complete info on all fees, so that I can finished my work of the day at night to update the info into my own report.

Simply put, Jupiter is first class (efficient, professional), iTrade is 3rd class (so proud, of what?! not knowledgeable remisers, and lack of info of the whole system inclusive of software and reports). That's all I can say. Sorry for long writing since I'm getting more and more frustrated on itrade after 2+ years with them. The report system is bad, the customer service (via remiser) is bad too. The only reason I'm still using itrade is for trading HK and US stocks. But one day if I can't take it anymore, I'll close the account and look for other brokers. It is THAT BAD, really. It's a pity cimb is the biggest IB in Malaysia, what a shame.

Yok,

I think it boils down to the remisier, not the IB's fault.  sweat.gif

I have been using CIMB Itrade Malaysia and CIMB Sekuritas Indonesia, both have been trouble free so far. Albeit I have yet to transact in multi currency accounts.

For me I do prefer to have less hassle with the remisier and able to do everything myself since I am based overseas. In malaysia the few e-mails i send to the remisier is replied within 24 hours which is good enough for me.

In Indonesia CIMB Sekuritas i merely have to BBM to check cash transfer/place buy order and it will be acknowledged immediately as well. In fact, CIMB sekuritas gave me "almost" institutional T+3 brokerage rate, trading limit 3x cash value, with no minimum.  laugh.gif

I do trade myself through online platform, just that for certain things (ie. fund transfer, payment of different currency etc ) that required me to give instructions to the person/remiser assigned to me. This is exactly the same case for Jupiter. So I'm under online platform fees, not personal remiser fees. Well ya, maybe I am bad luck to be assigned to an irresponsible + not knowledgeable remisor who give me wrong information and sometimes making mistakes that would have give me forex loss. doh.gif

Other than that, I'm also not happy with their report/system.
1. The email report to me for the day of my transaction is not complete (without displaying fees). I need to wait 1 more day for local stock and 3 more days for foreign stocks to get the complete report.

2. There is no where to verify or record down my setting of "settle currency" column when I do the transaction. This is bad since how can they not display this important setting?

3. The updating of money in my various currency accounts is slow, sometimes it takes one week or even longer to see the update. This makes me difficult to keep track of my money since I may need to do 5 transactions within a week! I need to record down everything by myself! Then what's the use for computer system?? Badly design software.

shakehead.gif

But you are satisfying with this kind of system?

Ok, for me I am not using multi currency account so cant comment on that.

1. Yes the email of the daily trasaction is without fees, but since i use J-Stock as portfolio, fees are calculated automatically.

2. If i vaguely remember there is an option to settle in the chosen currency in the online platform...but i am not sure  hmm.gif

3. So far my accounts update is instant... you can see the settlement page, there is debit and credit column. It display cash due to and from you so you can see the balance.

Hope the above helps.  wink.gif

Strange. I did one transaction (HK stock) today, and until now, my settlement page still displaying zero transaction there. No info at all.

Yes, there is a settle in chosen currency option in the online platform, but there is no such column displaying in the confirmation box when proceeding the transaction, so I cannot confirm if the system is proceeding correctly or not, this is #1. Then, #2, after the transaction, there is no way I can find this "history", so there is no way I can argue on their mistake afterwards since there is no way to find any proof.

I do not want estimated fees (calculated in J-Stock), I want exact details so that I could record my portfolio accurately. I also using J-Stock but with my own keying in fees column. As fees also may change along the way, so I do not utilize the auto function.

It could be frustrating to have all those issues when the problem should be only focus on trading, let me go through to see how this could be appach amicably, I am sure CIMB doesn't want to lose your business even if your dealer does

1) when you have forgotten which currency you chose you can actually check with your dealer as the IT department actually have a trail on the currency (settle in RM or Foreign currency) you have selected, try communicate with the dealer and let him know that you have an option not to trade with him

2) The transaction report for foreign shares with full cost  is available the next day i am not sure about waiting for few days pls check with the dealer

3) withdrawal is on the same day, if the request is submitted before 12pm then the fund will be in your CIMB bank ac by 5.30pm. if bank in to other bank it will take one more day to clear. If you try to withdraw foreign currency, it will be converted to Rm then withdraw it will take 1 more day eg withdraw monday before 12pm fund in account on Tuesday.

anyway please communicate with your dealer to find a solution, you have trading to worry about, should not stress with other trivia issues that's the job of your dealer

Happy trading

Exactly!

"The transaction report for foreign shares with full cost is available the next day"
Only local shares she gave the next day, on foreign shares ALWAYS few days (mostly 3 days).

CIMB should make this a policy to give report the next day. It's ridiculous to request clients to fight for it. shakehead.gif

how to calculate the trading limit if use the cash upfront account??

mine doesn't tally with the amount of cash I have.
*
my case is, i'm not using margin account. But i'm not sure what they called my account, but i have about 3 to 5 times margin to trade for my remaining cash in my account. But then, i think this only allow to be used before T+3. By T+3, I still need to repay the total account. I guess they called this cash upfront. So answer to your question is, trading limit displaying at least 3 times (my case about 5 times) more money as compare to your account balance. If you want to see a "more accurate" (just more, not exactly accurate because it's a conversion into RM) balance, go to "Report->Monthly Statement". But here, you will have to wait for one day or so to see the correct balance if you did some trading on the day.

QUOTE(Weelium @ Dec 19 2014, 05:42 PM)
Hi ,

I am new to itrade CIMB.

I have a few questions :

1) If I create a buy order with price of 80 USD for 50 units , validity: day trade.
After the end of the day, only 10 units of order being filled, will the 10 units be processed directly or will they be cancelled?
Is there a way to make sure that the order is processed only when certain amount of units being filled, say 40 units? So that the minimum brokerage charge of 25 USD is only incurred once?  biggrin.gif
2) What if If I create a buy order with price of 80 USD for 50 units , validity: GTD next day.

First day: 20 unit filled
Second day: another 20 units filled

The orders will be processed for 20 units + 20 units with twice the brokerage charges 25 USD + 25USD?  shocking.gif

Or they will filled altogether 40 units on second day with only 25 USD?  thumbup.gif

If the GTD is 15 days later? they will only be processed 15 days later? rclxms.gif
*
1) I think there is no way to do this. Pray hard to not just matched (filled) very little shares. biggrin.gif

2) You can create multiple buy orders with GTD on their own.
