Here's a little info for you guys, to save some budget and take advantage of the currency situation right now. My credit card charged me the GBP rate at 5.37 for my recent LOTR DVD purchase. For Band of Brothers:

UK: £29.77 + £3.58 = £33.35 (*5.45) = RM181.76
US: $54.99 + $8.98 = $63.97 (*3.65) = RM233.49

Also, if you don't want the extras and Animatrix, you can also save by ordering the UK version:

UK: £25.51 + £3.58 = £29.09 (*5.45) = RM158.54
US: $74.99 + $8.98 = $83.97 (*3.65) = RM306.49

This is based on standard shipping method. As you guys know, almost all of the time the UK shipment will arrive around 1 week only, while US shipment will arrive between 2 weeks (if you're lucky) and up to 6 weeks. There are same risks for both UK/US. The shipping rate will get cheaper with additional titles, for both UK/US.

Warner Bros always use the same transfer if they're handling both region's release, and they're always region free. So the PQ/AQ should be the same. Warner's Beowulf release in UK got 5 star PQ/AQ even though Paramount never released it in US at that time because of their HD DVD exclusive. Also, there is only one case reported here about AQ difference, and that was Paramount's Transformers.

So, it's up to you. tongue.gif

the matrix from US is such a  'worth-it' package though..
*
That probably true, but I know many of us never watch the extra features, and possibly don't want the Animatrix. For those people, the UK version (movies only) is their best choice and save some money. They should buy the US version if the cost is the same though, no doubt. biggrin.gif

Me? I don't even wanna buy the trilogy. I'm waiting for the individual release and buy the first movie only. Just trying to help. tongue.gif

Arj, yup, when I kena that day, UPS did all the work, only pay them when they deliver to me. But until now, DHL never failed me. I'm praying hard that my lucky streak will last. sweat.gif

anyone has US matrix, can verify that the first disc of the DVD extra has no pictures printing on it?

it just blank both side of the DVD,  hmm.gif probably because it is dual layer?
*
Dual-layer should be only on one side. This probably a double-sided DVD.

We know that the HDTV also automatically upscale SD sources, the question is how good the result is? It's just another option.

For me, my AV receiver, DVD player and PS3 itself can upscale. But after comparing all options, my receiver provides the best upscaled PQ, so it takes the job. rclxms.gif

after so long, i just had my first bluray - Planet Earth. I was like OMG every 10 seconds. the PQ and AQ are awesome. biggrin.gif

AQ awesome? Not so much to my ears. But yes, the PQ is indeed awesome. thumbup.gif

Welcome to the world of HD. The road is one way, there's no turning back. So be prepared with the plastic money. whistling.gif

You can actually fold the locking flap inside and lock it there. Now the casing is exactly like others.

The flap will still inside, you won't even remember it's there. And yes, even Disney uses this kind of casing sometimes. biggrin.gif

Always glad to help. biggrin.gif

If it's hard to lock it inside, you can force to close the casing with the flap inside. When you open it back it will then stay there permanently.

That's the loading page. In this case, it's checking for BD-Live through internet.

Looks like you have connection problem while loading the disc. Turn off internet connection and it will load within seconds.

Blu-ray.com reviews The Dark Knight:

http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/movies.php?id=743&show=review

In the screenshots, you can see the different aspect ratios betweeen the 70mm IMAX shots and the regular 35mm. This will be a whole new experience in B D, with shifting ratios. The first movie to use shifting ratios was Stanley Kubrick's Dr Strangelove Or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and and Love the Bomb DVD.

So the black bars will move up and down ?  blink.gif

You'll have full screen (16x9) without the black bars during IMAX scenes (1.78:1 aspect ratio),

And the black bar will appear during normal 35mm scenes (2.40:1 aspect ratio).
