ohh... really? then im lovin it even more! for a car that age, if i actually had one, i wont be using it to race against anyone.. i just wanna drive it at cruising speed, enjoying the luxuries and the sound of the engine, while listening to some oldies... that'd be a perfect car for a sunday morning drive around the countryside! it's a brilliant car IMHO, but too bad it doesnt do well in terms of performance.. but the good part is, it's even more affordable if it's not as good as the countach. hopefully i can buy the car from the owner in sungai petani someday.. hopefully it's still running with the original engine and well taken care of.. now need to save lots of cash! biggrin.gif
haha, yeah.. it still looks good now even in its old age rite??

its not that it doesnt do well in terms of performance.. 0-60 in 6.5 secs, top speed 266kmh.. thats really good even by 2day's standards.. its juz that if compared 2 its main rivals that, which r much much lighter, the bora juz isnt as good.. n when we're talkin bout supercars, figures juz means business..

u know, there is a cheaper version of the bora, called the "merak".. it uses the same body as the bora, n looks pretty much the same, wit a smaller v6 engine..

damn right! it's a lot more beautiful than most current cars on the streets! 6.5 secs is amazing enough for something that old. at least twice pickup speed than my saga. and can hit 266kmh is impressive enough too! although i would not dare to go that fast if i actually had one. heheh. googled a bit and found out the merak handles better due to lower weight and better weight distribution. it even has small back seats. bora doesnt have any. anyway, the merak and bora looks a bit like something from detomaso dont u think? car designers back then are like van gogh and da vinci. their creations are amazing and the designs last forever! hey, thanks for ur infos! great we have the same passion! biggrin.gif
dude, i think ure a much bigger than i am.. coz although i adore it very much, i wouldnt wanna own one tongue.gif

its sad isnt it, that car designs 2day r goin backwards instead of forwards.. instead of making more beautiful cars, we seem 2 be making more ugly ones, even supercars.. car designers 2day r governed by so much safety rules n regulations, that its impossible 2 design sumthin beautiful anymore.. ferrari's 4 instance, 2 me, they stop making pretty cars after the 355.. the 360, the 430, the 612, the 599 even r not pretty.. we juz think they r coz theyre ferrari's..

Yeah you're right there, the last truly beautiful Ferrari was the F355. Every Ferrari since then has been overly compromised, styling-wise by their own quest for better aerodynamics.

And in the California's case, they've lost their plot completely. The styling was compromised not only for aerodynamic downforce, but also for ultimate refinement at speed, which is just blasphemy for Ferrari. Factor in also the needless folding metal roof, and they ended up with the mess the California is.

They have forgotten Enzo Ferrari's own quote - "Aerodynamics are for people who can't build engines"
hahaha.. ure absolutely right dude..

if enzo ferrari was still alive, cars like the new california wouldnt even exist.. enzo surely wouldnt want sumthin like that holding his name.. that weird looking front end, that enormous fat ass, that folding metal roof.. make no mistake though, i love the california very much.. 2 me, it is the most complete supercar ever..

i guess im kinda agreeing wit wat jon claydon said on his review of the california, "is it a good car? sure it is.. but it is also a ferrari created by market research"..

haha.. TVRs, ive never like the way they look.. never like the way how cheaply it is made, never like the fact they r hopelessly unreliable..

but then, ive always have a major respect 4 em.. sumthin bout em, that other car manufacturers never been able 2 achieve.. u dont really wanna own one, but u respect em nonetheless.. kinda like muscle cars, but much muhc better..

n dont 4get.. they r kinda cheap for the sort of power they offer thumbup.gif

4 me, i think the t350c is the prettiest.. y?? coz the from the front, i think its the most un-shouty looking TVR.. looks kinda sleek, wit that long bonnet.. n at the back, that light arrangement is juz mad.. which is wat other people would be lookin at most of the time if u have one these, coz its juz histerically fast!! (if it odesnt break down that is tongue.gif) juz imagine, queuing up behind one of these, seeing that rear looks..

LOL? from Hamann Ferrari to kapcai bike? something is really not right here, someone ought to check it out. I think the number plate alone costs 10x more than the motorcycle itself.
dude.. thats like so normal doh.gif

in case u didnt know, thats wat people always do when they sell off the car but still wanna keep the number.. buy a cheap bike, put the number there, then when they got the new car, transfer it there from the bike.. even i have a double digit number on a kapcai im keeping 4 when i wanna get a new car.. at the moment, still cant get it coz no money 2 buy sweat.gif

ok quick question here... seems suitable for this forum... which wud u rather have, PRACTICALITY in mind...

jaguar xf sv8, audi rs6, bmw m5, mercedies e55amg???
dont really like the look of the rs6.. theres no more e55 amg, replaced by the e63 amg.. n even that n the m5 is due 4 a replacement soon..

no more xf sv8, replaced by the new xf-r, powered by a newly developed supercharged 5.0L v8, which is of coz, would be my choice at the moment thumbup.gif

the thing is in malaysia the sv8 is in stock and the 55amg too... i mean new cars from dealers... plus we want a car under the mm2h program so itll b CHEAP!!!
well, if uve got the money 2 afford cars like that, y settle 4 the old model?? might as well get the new ones, rite??

anyway if its absolutely have 2 choose between the m5, xf sv8, rs6 n e55, i guess ill have 2 go wit the m5 then..

although, i have 2 agree wit IvanDass on this, its gettin quite common on our roads sweat.gif

the sv8 is too underpowered within that company, e55 also the same prob.. i mean if im spending that kinda money, i have 2 have at least 500hp.. again, dont like the looks of the rs6.. so that leaves me wit the m5 then..

Maybe the XF-R would lose out to the upcoming M5 and E63. But Jag recons Bhp figures to be around 500+. I dunno but to me 500 horses is hardly underpowered. Just my two-cents.
in this current times, i doubt very much that the new m5 is gonna have a massive power hike than the current one.. beisdes, theyre even ditchin the high revving NA 5.0L v10 n goin 4 a twin turbo v8 unit (the same engine thats fitted in the new 750i, although its gonna have different state of tuning 2 suit a more sporty character).. bmw r headin 2wards a greener target, thats y u can see that most of their sweet high revving straight 6 unit being replaced by more efficient n relaxed powerplants (mostly r goin 4 turbocharging)..

n for the new AMG e class, im very sure that its still gonna have the same 6.2L NA v8 as the current one, so like the m5, i dont think it will have a big power increase..

so even when u wait for the new m5 n AMG e-class 2 come out, the rs6 still rules in the horsepower battle..

in the battle of the ultimate super saloon, it comes down 2 which company can make the best compromise of power, handling, comfort n practicality.. im sure the new m5 will still keep the crown, but at least the xf-r isnt gonna be so far down as b4.. thumbup.gif

True... I was quite saddened when I read about BMW ditching their high-revving engines and taking to turbo-charging. But being BMW, I'm sure they'd come up with some awe-inspiring engines. I just felt that AMG had their huge lazy engines, AUDI had mental turbos, and BMW were the ones with the high-revving engines stuffed with race tech. It just gave me the impression that was their character and it was a character I liked....
n the irony bout all this is, we can see that merc is the one now heading 2wards the high revving NA powerplants, whilst bimmer's now goin for the more relaxed torquey forced induction engines.. laugh.gif

i read conflicting reports about the upcoming m5, how it's either going to have a uprated v10 to 5.5l, or the 750's twin turbo, which incidentally is good for just over 400hp, so they've got their work cut out for them. either way, i get bmw's mag ever quarter, and they've been incessantly harping on their efficient dynamics, which really is probably the right thing to do because the horsepower wars are pretty insane.

for end users, bmw obviously have their head screwed on right; the majority of the buyers aren't looking for huge capacity monsters, they want that fine line between comfort, practicality and hair-raising performance. i can't imagine what the road tax for a e63 is going to be like, and how much fuel it drinks while WOT, although on our roads here, i doubt the pedal will remain floored for very long. it's a rarefied market, these huge horsepower sedans, and i totally agree with you about the m5 maintaining the lead, because it is going in the right direction, and especially if they opt for the turbo, the road tax factor won't be a great issue. the m5 has the image and name, but seriously... they have to improve that interior.
hmm.. i never stumbled across bout the new m5 goin 4 the increased capacity v10, good 2 know then.. thnx 4 the info..

the new v8 is an incredible engine according 2 people who has tried em.. currently fitted 2 the new 7 series as well as the x6, this new powerplant has been planned 2 be use in more models in the future.. if the new m5's gonna have this, most probably they'll tune it 2 deliver around 500hp too.. bmw definitely dont wanna lose in making the new m5 much less powerful than its rivals, especially now that even jaguar is coming 2 the party wit 500hp on tap..

n i agree totally wit u bout the hp battle, is totally insane!!

if however they decide put that v8 in the new m5, id be sad.. coz i seriously love that v10.. it may not sound as good the merc's v8, but its one superb powerplant.. n sadder even 2 know that in its entire lifetime its only being used in 2 models, n even that 2 is pretty much the same car sad.gif
