but HN always over priced their item..  i think even 50% + 10% still high...  any comments?
*
I can confirm that the price is ridiculously expensive, even after the 50% discount! Went to check just now, but none of the Queen size bed goes for lesser than 2.5k! even the bedframe is mahal.......

Decided to write off Dorma mattress after the made up story by their boss. Will only go for mainstream brand from now on such as Dunlopillo, Serta, Sealy etc

What story?

Seeking expertise.

Is it advisable to put the mattress on the floor instead of the divan/bed frame?
i think my divan is giving way, so am concern it'd break the new mattress I plan to get..

Story about Dorma is the Queen Elizabeth appointed mattress, used by Price Charles, Prince William etc.
Just do some homework and found it's all lies! Dorma is a fabric brand appointed by Queen Elizabeth, not for the mattress.  Don't get duped!

Meant to reply you on this, as I have read your post about it.
LOL how dare they! Had the Queen found out about this, the Kingdom of UK may come to punish them! haha

Putting mattress on the floor won't spolt your new mattress. It only making life a bit difficult when you have to bend down a lot when changing bedsheet. Getting in and out of bed also going to be a chores especially for elderly from standing to laying position and vice versa.

And you need your floor to be sparkling clean from dust with a lot more sweeping or vaccuming....

not advisable to put the mattress on the floor especially for those elderly people

all the while i thought it'd damage the spring. turns out it is about convenience only. yup, it is easier to climb onto bed, than having to crawl into one! Thanks!

When it comes to bedsheets, does thread count matters?

For me, the fabric quality matters more than tc.

QUOTE(oyching88 @ Jun 24 2017, 12:31 AM)
Many people claims TC = fabric quality, is it true???
*
QUOTE(avrilmae @ Jun 24 2017, 08:36 AM)
Not true.  From my understanding, TC and fabric quality are 2 different things.
TC is the number of threads (horizontal and vertical) per square inch.
Fabric quality depends on the fibre.  The longer the fibre, the better the quality.
Hence, a bedsheet with a high tc doesn't mean it's of good quality if it has a low quality fabric.
*
By quality fabric, do you mean the type (cotton, synthetic, polyester) or do you mean something else?

QUOTE(oyching88 @ Jun 27 2017, 01:55 AM)
I agree with you, but some others here claim that low TC count means lousy quality such as Dreamland mattress with 280 TC.
*
But could there be a correlation between the two? I mean, TC is not a be all and end all, but it should be one of the criteria in buying bedsheets?

Getha silk dynasty...

I think the top got silk only...
*
But tbh, I think it'd be hard to maintain (e.g. wash, clean...) simply because silk needs more care than other fabric.

Will check it out!

Actually tbh I'm not sure which shops in Malaysia are selling genuine Egyptian cotton with the long fibres.
For supima cotton, I think you can find in most major dept stores like Aeon, Parkson, Metrojaya, Isetan...

Will check this out!

btw, found this bit of info about Pima cotton:

it is an in-house series, you are certainly not able to find the models in the kingkoil official website.

you are probably paying 1K extra for the so-called house brand.

What do you mean by 'in-house'?

Are they good brands? I see they are affordably-priced compared to other brands, and it got tempted. If not mistaken, aerofoam is one of the very few companies in Malaysia that manufactures latex mattresses locally here?
