hey sifus, i need some help with selecting a mattress.... i've been reading really good reviews about the King Koil Maharaja mattress from this forum, but so far the few shops I've gone to didn't have it.

I have found a few mattresses which i tested and feel that it's quite good. can give some advice and also if you can find a cheaper place to get these models, please lemme know? thanks!

This furniture shop near cash converters PJ:
Sweet Dream Outlast (latex + pocket spring) = RM1899

Macy Bedroom @ ikano:
King Koil Gold Crown (latex + pocket spring) = RM2172
King Koil Silver Crown (latex + pocket spring) = RM1899

I bought maharaja... and i am liking it till now, it is not what others say, if you have not slept on it and experience it, you are not qualified to talk about it. Hearsay is a part of marketing tool.. so, i still prefer to hear from those who has bought and slept on the mattresses. Not meant to bash or be rude to any one who is making any contribution here. Just my honest 2 cents..

got a few questions for you to get feedback regarding your mattress:

1. when did you buy it? if it was more than 1 year ago, has the mattress started to sink (i.e. the springs are cacat already)?
2. where did you buy it and for how much?

Talking about warranty, I will share what's stated in my king koil maharaja warranty card:

1. During first year, if you find defect and want to claim it, KK will repair for you, but you will pay for transportation cost.
2. From 2nd year onwards, if you claim warranty, you will have to pay all transportation cost AND 10% of the repair cost on second year and ADD another 10% every subsequence year. That means in year 5, you will pay 40% of the repair cost.

So when we thought we pay X amount of money and plan to sleep on it for 10 years without have to 1 more cent, we were dreaming.

WHATTT???? what good is a warranty if there is absolutely no benefit to the user whatsoever? bah.

Since the price is only RM1.2k and not RM4xxx... do not make yourself so worry. I even hear many other stories about other brands.

End of the day, it is what you feel satisfied with. I have three more KK mattresses at hometown and they are still good after 5 years. Just my experience.
*
thanks for sharing the experience about your beds with me. the reason why i worry is because i previously bought simespring which was recommended by this shop in SS2 previously. but even less than 2 years later, the bed started sagging with the mattress having "hole" that fits your body. so reading the same problem with KK kinda makes me wanna rethink. and although to many RM1.2k is cheap, it's a lot of money for me... =(

i've been sleeping on my brand new KK maharaja mattress for the past week and i've been very happy. however, i'm just wondering anyone of you have faced problems that certain days, you would wake up with back pain. i'm trying to determine whether it's the bed or because of work (or something else). my wife also has the same problem, but we don't get it on the same day...

Hmmm... so far a month plus, no problem for me and wife. I was kinda shocked when he mentioned that.

Perhaps I don't feel it because my previous mattress was kinda crappy and Maharaja feels much better.

Bro, lostasylum, do update us, and.... plus other Maharaja owners here, do share with us if you guys encounter any other issues.  sweat.gif

since i asked that question, haven't been getting those back pains, so maybe perhaps it was other factors causing the pain. now the problem i have is that all the fitted queen size covers i bought now just barely fit the maharaja since it's 12" thick... hahahaha.. but i guess it's a good problem to have...

I am sleeping on KK Maharaja (new one) for a while, no back pain for me. Just that I wake up a lot earlier than usual and feel fresher, so I guess the change of mattress was a good thing for me.

I did need to change my pillows though as my old pillows somehow feels too "flat" on this mattress.
*
the first thing my wife and i noticed and we laughed pretty hard was how high the bed had suddenly become with the 12" mattress... hahahaha.. but it's really nice to sit down on... i'm just hoping that the bad ache problem is external and not caused by the mattress...

Hi, i can answer ur question. I bought the maharaja king koil also , about 6 months now. I also saw this thread people recommend so I bought it.

First 3 months, really sometimes got backache one. I believe coz the maharaja is too stiff. I feel like it's a bit too hard for me. After the 3rd month, the foam a bit like soften , now I feel better. Sometimes still got on n off wake up a bit stiff esp at the waist/buttock area but can still accept la.

My previous mattress was king koil also, Posturex. Very good, very comfy, no back pain. But old already throw away, then realise the price shoot up to rm2k plus cannot afford so bought maharaja. But if you ask me to choose again, I think I will budget more and choose back Posturex. Previously, I thought as long as buy king koil should be good, but now i think choose back the one I slept before that most comfort one is the way to go la..

Just my experience to share.

hey man, thanks a lot for your feedback.. now at least i don't feel to scared... heheh... =)

There is no such thing as "THE BEST Brand" for sure.

It is more like.... whether the particular mattress suits you the BEST in terms of price, functionality, comfort, material quality,... (plus some other factors).
*
totally agreed. and just to add, don't buy mattressing just based on recommendation. make sure you go and test out the mattresses for yourself, because what works for others may not work for you...=)

i've been using my maharaja for about a month now, and it's good. however, the latex layer which seems to follow body shape was causing me some back problems initially, but i've found out recently that perhaps it could be my pillow instead... i've been sleeping without a pillow for the past few nights and it's a nice sleep for me now... =)

thought it may help some who are facing similar issues...

3 weeks is kinda long to wait for a mattres right? i'm thankful that my mattress was delivered the same day i purchased it. otherwise, i would not have had a bed to sleep one (we got rid of our old queen sized bed when we moved)... =)

got my maharaja king size with 2 kingkoil pillows and bolster and midori bedframe from Speedy Furniture...

haven't tried it out yet as i forgot that i need bedsheets as well tongue.gif but it looks really huge in my room!
*
hahahahah... that's the same feeling i had when the maharaja finally arrived.. because it's so much thicker than the normal mattresses, it made the mattress look absolutely huge! =) and then some more the bedsheet also can barely cover cause too thick... but i love the mattress...

initially it may feel a little hard, but it should get better as the latex foam on top should follow your body shape after a while.... =)

First , they don wanna discount , even the price stated offer price..
the price still can be bargain..but they insist not to discount..
dunlopillo is a branded mattress..

fine.. then when they approaching me , they took out the resit and write the model,
the price, then write FOC what what what to me ...
then ask my number , my name , my address...

i told him hey boss i still not consider yet...pls don write...he said nvm...
after writing all...he said ..ok , u jus need to sign here n pay deposit thats it..
the mattress is urs..

i said boss...im d consumer, i got the right to think n buy which one i want..
he said wat u still thinking ? the history of this bed d answer u ...don need think...
jus sign...today i didnt do even one sale...

WTF...thats non of my business...i told him u better be patience..
i need to consider with my wife...then all their colleagues keep coming n pushing me..
beh tahan..i f*** off ...

i was thinking ...these fellows really spoil the brand of Dunlopillo...i rather spend much money on other salesman
rather than talking to these kind of salesman...  sweat.gif  sweat.gif
*
wow... that's horrible. but i think you did well to not succumb to his persistence. aggressive marketing in this manner is very unethical and you have every right to complain to dunlopillo or the company that person worked for.

Is better to put mattress on bed frame because sometimes moisture will occur underneath the mattress if your floor humidity is high. And it may grow fungus in long term.
*
if not, can buy those low bed frames... nowadays quite popular.....
