not free lunch my fren >< just the best bargain ma. If the same mattress can get in other shop (not bangsar) for few hundred cheaper why not?

This is going to be off topic: but u may be surprised that some shops in bangsar are not.... i got my tag heuer spec frame there..... cheapest in the market that time.... even i went there to replace my lens to transitions.... also cheapest i can find.... lolz.... dont underestimate bangsar prices.....

hi all matress experts!!

about to move in to new house, and the reno + appliances + furniture expense are really killing me.....therefore need to seek your advice for an affordable KING size bed, (budget <rm1000 or rm1500), got?

How many inch of thickness? I am not expecting it can last me for life with this price tag (compare to those 3k, 5k, 8k, 10k++ matress), but at least 5-10 yrs?

maybe you should try to rebudget ur matress.... you are practically spending 1/4 to 1/3 of your day on it and a good sleep can determine the rest of the day.... just my suggestion.... trying maybe topping up abit more or get a queen instead...

i think i am torn between tempur, simmons, serta for the above 10k
and natura ravello, spring air artemis, englander (forgot the name but its 17" high bed) for below 10k..... :S
also kinda impressed with sleep to live.....
any comments?

You tested them all? The < 10k ones felt as good as the > 10k ones?

Tested all of them....
honestly.... some of the above 10k are not as good as <10k to me.... i guess its a very personal preference.... but overall.... unfortunately the best mattress i tried so far are the above 10k.... after trying all the above 10k, all the below 10k felt so hard....

for above 10k.....
for me.... tempur's memory foam was the best..... because it was soft enuf to "sink" my whole shoulder in the bed when sleeping side ways but yet, kept my back in a straight line....

then it was simmon's memory foam.... which wasn't too bad.... i'd also liked two other simmon's, 1 from the US factory, around 22k i guess, and another from the korea factory, which has a smaller coil inside the main coil....

next i guess would be sleep to live, with either 600 or 800 series.... felt abit like i was floating on the bed....

serta's vera wang and their latex was good also.... had abit of sleep to live for the vera wang but harder.... the latex would also be harder than the simmons.....

below 10k
natura's ravello, it was very nice, but the memory foam part was abit hard. took a while before the memory foam contoured to your body. but after it does.... then it feels good (this bed is good for heavy ppl)

after that was spring air's artemis and englander (17" thick) mattress... almost the same feeling as serta's vera wang, doesnt really contour to your body fully.... i would rate spring air above englander because the 17" thick would be a real pain when wanna find fitted sheets.....

Note: for ppl who is in a budget, my recommendation is to get a reasonable matress and buy a good memory foam / latex topper..... this will give you instant luxury feel... biggrin.gif

Has anyone tried Tech Ambient mattress from Harvey Norman? It has 3" memory foam top and a 5" PU bottom.... Tried it and i like the firmness but the price is RM6855.... wondering if the price is worth it or if you guys got any advice on something that is good for people in the 100kg range

planning to change my current mattress which is a 16" pocket spring cuz i feel it sagging after 5 years....
