QUOTE(ianho @ Nov 15 2008, 08:35 PM) Haih............. went all the way to town to see the Leica fair n turns out it was a puny lil glass case which is not even worth 2 minutes of my time. i lol-ed...Just look at how small the glass case of Leica stuff is when Epicenter booked the whole concourse but alotted a puny glass case only. If they're gonna treat the Leica brand like that then all I can say is god bless them. ![]() I thought can go there n try out the M8. The lauya salesman not even interested to serve. He even turn around n show me his backside when he heard me telling my wife I was interested in trying out the M8. He probably took 1 look at this old man wearing rotten tshirt, shorts n slippers n decided I was a fisherman not worth his time. ![]() After that last pic with flash then oni he turned around n realised I was holding a Leica. I continued taking a few more pics while he was so puzzled n shocked when he saw the Ricoh LC-1 Transformers looking thingy in front of my lens. He was about to ask me what it was, I think, but due to his useless cudn careless attitude in the beginning, I just walked off after taking this last pic of the glass case. ![]() Epicenter better buck up if they hope to do well with their Leica sales. With that kinda premium pricing, Leica's target market is not the common person in the street so they better train up the sales ppl to do a proper job. I give a big thumbs down to Epicenter. but quite understandable la.... actually leica not a consumer level household brand for cameras oso lo. but the 1st pic really LOL-ed and mayb you can report to epicenter bout their sales man oso.... such sales-person really i'm a pana lumix sales-person myself i try not to messed up serving fisherman-alike customers... you'll never know who they turn out to be This post has been edited by ahnien: Nov 15 2008, 11:16 PM |

I touched the M8 there. I never knew there was a focusing knob for your thumb! Then I went to the shop near the KFC/Carls Jr/Nandos/Pizza Hut side, and then only did I notice that ALL the Leica lenses had that!
The M8 is certainly brighter and easier to see the second image than the M6's. It had this rumbly sound after the *snhick* which I'm not sure is normal or not. Of course, some of the limitations of compact lens size made itself obvious (50mm F2.5 had a minimum focus distance of 80cm... you frame, then you turn the focus ring and then you walk backwards a few steps.) Added on November 16, 2008, 3:06 amBy the way, I Googled the Ricoh LC-1 on D-Lux 4. Your Youtube video came up! It's the shit yo. This post has been edited by albnok: Nov 16 2008, 03:06 AM |

That so called fair shud go balik kampung lar. The Camera shop near Carl's Jr is called Pixels. Pixels' showcase got lots more stuff to see than that puny lil glass case in the concourse area. QUOTE(xandman @ Nov 21 2008, 09:41 PM) No where in Msia apparently. I checked the Leica site for the Malaysian dealers. There were 3 Premier dealers listed. Mid Valley shop had quite a good selection of stuff n really nice window display, the guy was blardy lansi. 1Utama Shong Lee got a D-Lux 3 n a D3 n that's it. Today went to KLCC dealer, dunno nuts about Leica, asked for the DL4 leather case dunno what I tokin bout oso. These r the 3 listed so called Premier Dealers. The nicest place for Leica so far is that shop called Pixels in Pavilion. Got a very nice selection, window display nice, staff friendly n ever ready to take out the cams to let u touch n get poisoned. |

pixels and key color in midvalley are the same. they were the one who had the booth at pavilion last week.
hehehee! leica user don't really talk much about their cameras. they don't really care about who the dealer is and what special attention they will get from using leicas. they just use leica because they like the camera. not the dealer or shop owner or whatsoever. |
