I've tried to play DMC 4, NFS MW, NFS Carbon, and NFS ProStraeet in Vista. But I'm experiencing lagging when playing these games. However, out of 10 times, there's only one time I am not experiencing lagging problem in DMC 4. Also, I've defrag and run virus scan also on my comp, close most of the background application when playing the games, and even use lowest setting to play yet I still experienced lagging problem. Anything wrong with my comp spec? or? Also, I heard some say that is because Vista causing the games to run slow..hmm
My current comp spec are: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.66GHz 4Gb of RAM GeForce 9800GTX+ Wind Vista 64bit 500GB SATA HDD
Please help! Thanks.
ADd on: I've tried those games in my machine but was in Wind XP Pro and there's no lagging problem though I adjust all setting to High. (still wondering y there's lagging problem in Vista 64bit)

I don't experience lagging in DMC4, NFS MW, NFS Carbon, but NFS ProStreet is giving me hard time, it's just lag. Can you list out what program is running in Task Manager?

I've tested DMC4, FC2, CSS and most of it doesn't lag. You should check your task manager see which application is using the most memory.

Ok la. But in Assassin Creed I do feel some bottlenecking. Maybe my proc problem.
But with TS specs shouldn't be any lag in gaming.

Same here, Assassin Creed lags on me too... I'm not sure what happened, it's not like I crank up to highest setting. Btw, Ts is quiet, is it solved already?

That's a fairly powerful rig for gaming. When you say 'lag' I wonder how many fps you are expecting... or its noticable slowdowns.
I wanted to say "perhaps background apps eating up your memory", but 4Gigs - thats plenty good...
Memory leak via a third party app ? Run some diagnostics... Or maybe a driver issue.
Patch your games too - these games may not fully take advantage of the new 9800 GTX GPU...

Fairly powerful but perhaps not powerful enough..
I've a processor oc'ed to 3.2ghz, sometimes when the mobo revert the fsb back to default 2.0ghz (bug), I got less than 25fps mostly in assassin creed with 4850.. Of course the graphic setting was at the highest so it understandably lags.
"and even use lowest setting to play yet I still experienced lagging problem. " Just reread your post, seems like something is up. Try update your graphic driver?

QUOTE(insane77 @ Nov 17 2008, 07:21 PM) I can guaranteed its third party apps slowing him down... a desktop screenshot of usual programs or system monitor screenshot would be tremendously helpful. Oddly, still no screenshot ?
