mite as well wait for 790gx/fx boards to get their price drop bro... sb600 boards are gud but sb750 boards is d key for higher clock & better stability. wink.gif

ya lor thats why before i got this biostar i was intend to get that board but not much source so i just go and get this biostar easier also to get help n feedback
*
it's time for phenoms for u bro, even a tri-core can give u quite amount of fun... dual core on a sb750 board is just overkill imo... tongue.gif

QUOTE(mruzian @ Nov 18 2008, 11:42 AM)
erm come to think bout it back
hard to get end user support since not many using it tongue.gif
but a good board nonetheless

Don't think that it's gonna come soon ler..
Maybe the market is holding back for the new 2 core phenoms..
If the 6500 is alredi in the market i would bought it..
But i waited n waited n lastly i cannot wait no more n just got myself a 9850BE..
Abis cerita
same here, i oso can't wait for deneb that's why opted for 9950b.e. i'll die usin single core until next year... laugh.gif

QUOTE(mruzian @ Nov 18 2008, 12:01 PM)
erm wondering...how will AX78 fare using phenom
interm of o'c? i know it can support but maybe not
fully support as 790chip mobo
still fully support but not as clockable as sb750 boards as mentioned. u mite have problem w/ d nb freq too if ur on locked phenom. smile.gif

Dont worry lah,AM3 mobo has 2 support
Either Dual Channel DDR2 or Dual Channel DDR3 or 2x2GB DDR2..
or can be either way.Dont worry,if i grab AM3 mobo doesnt mean i need to use DDR3 RAM smile.gif

but i thought only earlier version of deneb will be supportin dd2, d rest will be pure on ddr3. i dun like d idea of boards havin support on both ddr2 & ddr3... that's just wierd to me... smile.gif

yup hv the same opinion wit u...kinda weird act
but i think it will hv it pros and cons

pros : no need to upgrade to the very expensive DDR3 sweat.gif
users can still use the old beloved DDR2

cons : i think it might have sum issues later esp in term of performance (o'c and tweaking) hmm.gif
*
yup, just like d gud old days of athlon... still remember Ali chipset supported both sd & ddr1 iirc... laugh.gif

QUOTE
Initially, the new chip will be released for the AM2+ socket, and will come in two flavors. Moreover, all Deneb processors will be backwards compatible with AM2+. That means that AM3 Deneb parts will work on AM2+, yet will not allow pairing with DDR3 memory modules. The downside is that AM2+ parts will not work on AM3 motherboards with DDR3 kits. Those willing to use a Deneb on such a board will have to wait until the first quarter of the next year, when the company is expected to launch the DDR3 models.

According to Johnson, the AM3 models will allow users to install them on AM2 motherboards as well. Of course, that would eliminate the use of DDR3, and will also mean switching to a slower HyperTransport, but it is a great thing anyway.

source HERE...

so it means deneb will have no problem runnin on am2+ boards i guess... hmm.gif

let me play with phenom while i have $$

true... wait no more bro, just hoot any phenom will do while waitin for deneb... brows.gif

QUOTE(cloudwan @ Nov 18 2008, 09:10 PM)
Miahahaha, your mobo should support AM3 Phenom ah, remember that it is supposed to be backward compatible with AM2+ mobo..
U don't really need to buy DDR3 and AM3 Mobo to use it.. smile.gif
Hopefully ah it would go as planned.. tongue.gif
But if u insist, by all mean get a Toliman n it should be enuff tongue.gif
*
come to think of it, one wouldn't run a deneb on an am2+ board, it's like runnin a phenom on an am2 board, can run but not fully support all d features... smile.gif

mSI 790GX is expensive right? For it's price u can get the J&W xtreme or DFI right? Or is there an MSI 790GX value model that just arrive here in M'sia??
*
for msi, i wouldn't recommend those neo series, atleast go for platinium series if oc is concerned. smile.gif

QUOTE(AMDAthlon @ Nov 19 2008, 12:02 PM)
Yeah i didnt say MSI bad thou.I never use MSI mobo nia sleep.gif
How much the MSI 790GX Mobo btw?

here in singapore, msi 790gx @ $260~270, dfi 790fxb @ $249. shocking.gif

QUOTE(anep @ Nov 19 2008, 12:03 PM)
i tot the price around rm400-rm500
*
way more expensive than that if it's a platinium series. sweat.gif

QUOTE(ameque @ Nov 19 2008, 01:01 PM)
MSI 790GX = rm330.

biostar 128M = rm350.

yeah browsing XS forum to see reviews on the board.

actually ok la compared to biostar. now need to try oc and see.. last k9a2 board cannot boot at all. i think too much oc tweaking here n there . first can boot, then 5 minutes, shut down. then sometimes during boot will show "warning! overclocking excedeed something something" when i already set it to default.  rclxub.gif

last2 RMA the board n bought the 790gx. now my friend want a 9500 oc to 3.0. i say cannot. he say can. get ready for another rma.
*
i believe d rm330 is not a platinium board, if yes then by all mean go for it. d shop must be mistakenly put d wrong price. grab it while stock last... tongue.gif

i thought bcoz of oc.. then when load normal bios setting also got bsod..

have to enter windows using last known good conguration..  icon_question.gif

@sepulgilo..
er.. biostar dont give any temp software for the board ?
*
dun worry, i get that almost everytime i switch driver too. gettin used to it but it happens once eveytime only, still acceptable for me. smile.gif

QUOTE(sarahlah @ Nov 20 2008, 01:19 PM)
oh no wonder la my pwm temp is high.. when i'm using Ac freezer 64 pro, the airflow direction is towards the rear exhaust fan.. so it help to cool the pwm..

when install RS, the airflow is towards the top.. have to put fan on the pwm area.. hmm

@sepugilo
how did u get theHW monitor graph ?
*
d silent otes was a joke to me, it can never cool down d mosfets properly. try to use other cooler to tame d temp, even cheapo cm chipset coolers will do d job better if cooled actively. smile.gif

anyone know which is my pwm yet?

there's no temp sensor for pwm on ta-790gx iirc, verified that w/ polygon @ rh... wink.gif

eh got some q's here..
pwm, sb, nb.. are those call chipset ?

coz quite confuse..
*
pwm temp = mosfets near cpu
chipset = northbridge

who care bout sb but it's diff case for phenoms chipset... tongue.gif

i just found out d culprit to high chipset temp... it's d dang heat transferred from those mosfets since d nb cooler & mosfets cooler are connected w/ a heat pipe... mad.gif vmad.gif

near 70'c @ passive vs < 60'c w/ 60mm fan @ 3.5k rpm on mosfets cooler. doh.gif
