QUOTE(cdlim87 @ Nov 16 2008, 11:12 PM) icic.... yalor.. it produce more heat thn expected at this Vcore... 7x0 chipset supposed to be more energy efficient. i blame it on the layout of d board (thanks to d additional pci-e slot) & lousy chipset cooler (for the nb) which not cooled actively.it is not so power efficiency.. QUOTE(mruzian @ Nov 16 2008, 11:15 PM) @ ah khoo - bro why the chipset temp so high one i'm still figurin out what's d problem bro but for now, it's more of d fault of d layout + stock passive cooler. reminds me of the old nf4 chipset QUOTE(mruzian @ Nov 16 2008, 11:34 PM) hehe everyone is waiting for ah khoo magic now ta-790gx has better layout imo, i can put my nb400-cu on it but not d fxb... btw bro do u hv the same chipset temp issue? both urs and ah khoo using the same 790 chipset rite? issit the chipset issue or might be the cooling QUOTE(sepulgilo @ Nov 16 2008, 11:47 PM) here it goes 5 minute stress diff chip, chipset & layout, one can't really compare an apple to an orange. eh different board & a different proc bro x4 vs x2 even its same chip it wont give same result u know QUOTE(cloudwan @ Nov 16 2008, 11:49 PM) Nice vcore ah... My 9850 cannot even run 3ghz properly at that vcore.. It needs a little bit more.. what's ya batch no bro? mine is 0833 BPMW. To go up to 3150mhz it alredy need around 1.375~1.38v... QUOTE(ronaldjoe @ Nov 16 2008, 11:52 PM) Ah Khoo running premium DFI board so far cpu temp + chipset temp is d issue, darn... i really need a small + gud nb cooler... plus monster 9950 Heat is prominent issue in this combo btw he is making me very itchy la thinking of getting BE to play as well So those running 3.4ghz is on WC QUOTE(ronaldjoe @ Nov 16 2008, 11:53 PM) vCore just a figure... if you r running well true to a certain extent, but not until it can hurt d chip badly in d long run bro... why bother ar? QUOTE(cloudwan @ Nov 17 2008, 12:29 AM) HR05S??? Whut's that? The PWM cooler is HR09S right?? HR05 should be chipset cooler. get a nb-400 cu + sink d mosfets w/ d mosfets cooler like what i did on ta-790gx will do. thinkin of sellin 'em since i can't use 'em on d fxb... (advertisin Hmmmm does moderno still have stock of the pwm cooler?? Well can't do anything more this month, i've alredy exhausted my budget with my recent hardware upgrades alredy |

QUOTE(sepulgilo @ Nov 17 2008, 03:55 PM) are u referrin to me bro? if so no magic at d moment as magic = $$$, no $$$ no magic... buyin 790fxb + 9950 b.e + dark knight @ one shot really hurts... QUOTE(zariel @ Nov 17 2008, 03:59 PM) hahaha... okay...already run nice vcore there but i wouldn't suggest stressin a phenom on 690g board. u mite risk fryin d mosfets... heck, even 780g board mite be victim of phenoms oc... - orthos beta blend test for 2 cores + - sp2004 stress for another 1 core for 1 hour... the result something like this the max temp for cores = 53C as in the pic... max Volt from the HW monitor shows 1.28V as for the northbridge freq... will try to find whther there is panel to change it.... yes.. 690 chipset so i can't unleash the full potential of my phenom.. will upgrade the board maybe next month... been using this board almost 3 years without any prob except the dual channel thing.... so this can be consider as stable overclocking?? QUOTE(dEsTiNyy @ Nov 18 2008, 05:28 AM) i would say it's one of d best budget oc boards w/ sb600, however, sb750 boards proved to be more clockable & stable. depend on d moolah u have, if $$$ is not a concern, by all mean go for sb750 boards. ta-790gx is a gud budget board. dfi 790fxb (sb750) is d most stable phenom board to date for me. so far i've only encountered once bsod after few days of tweakin, awesome...
