QUOTE(swee5420 @ Feb 10 2010, 09:38 PM)
I ordered an imac end of January and made my payment on the beginning of Feb. Then the order details said the imac will shipped on 25 Feb and i will get it by 3 March. I taught will get a week 8/9 which I think will be free of the yellow issue since they started to replace those faulty screen recently.

But today, i got an invoice and stated my imac is a week 6, and when check the order status, it said SHIPPED and will be arriving on 17 FEB, I was like WTF.

What worries me is that how come it changed like that, is it that they discover some old stock in the inventory and send it to me?

Is anyone kind enuf to explain their shipping process?
*
Why worry...? No point worrying or speculating over an undelivered product...

If defective, call AppleCare, get a replacement... If problem persists, call again and get another replacement... If it happens again, either return for full refund or replace and get 15% refund... this scenario can only be applied in the States, but who knows, you may be lucky... whistling.gif

Mine is Public Bank card. How do I know the card has been pre-approved for internet or online transactions?
*
Aduh....!! Got credit card also don't know how to get support...? doh.gif doh.gif

Behind your card there's a phone support number right...? When in doubt, give your bank a call and ask...

Which statement did I mention I wanted to activate the online transaction here? Now I'm not asking the forumers to approve internet transaction, right? shakehead.gif
*
No, but are they able to determine whether your card is pre-approved for online transaction other than your bank...?

hey guys, wanna ask about the transactions by apple online through cc payment. Do they charge the exactly amount stated on the invoice? I checked my bank statement acc and amount is not same. Is this extra is for conversion rate? Since the store is in SG?
*
I assume you took the exact amount from your invoice and convert using whatever online method you can find...?

Of course it's not the same... the conversion rate follows the rate quoted from your card issuer which is higher, not from XE.com or any other online conversions.... else what business will they have with credit cards...? profits...

Thank guys for the feedback.

Since the invoice is from SG & the amount is stated in RM. Just wonder why the amount in cc statement is not same with invoice.

I just want to double confirm this before calling to bank. Because this is my first time buying from apple store online so I didn't know how they process it. smile.gif
*
Wait, you're confusing me... You made your purchase on Apple Online Store in SG or in MY...? rclxub.gif

Then there's definitely a discrepancy here... If it's a MacBook Pro, then your purchase is well within the "free shipping" eligibility... Check with your bank if they have any surcharges or anything out of the ordinary...

MacBook Pro Targeted 2.8GHz Core i7 Processors

If you're referring to the above, keep waiting then... tongue.gif It will just be a minor speed bump, due end of this year if Apple sticks with it's regular refresh cycle.

While you're at it, you'll be jealous of how many ppl here including myself are enjoying their MBs and MBPs... tongue.gif

QUOTE(Ricky Ling @ Aug 10 2010, 10:07 PM)
I know Mac Pro's strength is on the customization. What I really mean compared to "entry" Mac Pro, the spec seem similar; same 1 socket processor, 16GB max DDR3, same range of GC (5750 & 5770). The rest HDD bay differ but only 2 compared to 4 HDD...

So if u want to really differentiate with iMac QC, u should buy Mac Pro "Better" model which cost Rm11.5 K excluding 27" LCD monitor
*
But what you're saying, you still miss the point... Yes, the iMac gives you 27", let alone extend another display, but a Mac Pro has better expandability of up to 6 displays in total - displays of your own choice. HDD you can only customise additional 2.5" SSD on an iMac's tiny space, as compared to 4 HDD, and probably more if you know how to MOD.

As for GC on the iMac, you're stuck with 5750, whereas an MP can get up to 5870, probably 6870 in the future when MP 2011 ships.

MP comes with PCIe slots for additional cards - RAID cards, connectivity cards, pro-video/audio cards, you name it. Does the iMac have this...? SD card slot for an advantage maybe.

Oh, if the iMac goes AWOL, there it goes, the entire unit into the service center. The Mac Pro, still behaves like a PC - cabut here, cucuk there... whistling.gif

Need I go on..? It's a long list....

People who afford the MP 4-core don't really compare performance per price or specs per price if you wanna put it that way.

In short, they pay extra on the premium of expandability at your own pace (vs customised iMac from factory), with a little more variety of your own stuff (vs Apple-designated parts), and those who demands features for professional work which the iMac lacks. For this small set of ppl... "Performance be damned, I want expandability" MP 4-core fits right perfectly.

I've always not bothered with people who can't tell the difference. as you two know about my training style...

the iMac is a consumer Mac. yes, its very very powerful and can get very close to the performance of the entry-level Mac Pro...
but its like a VW Golf GTi Mk2 chasing a VW Golf GTi Mk4 ... totally different beast under the hood smile.gif

well I don't.... I failed analogy, remember...?

Well it seems there's a new feature on the Online Store out of the downtime earlier...

Mac Comparison feature on Apple Online Store

What a letdown. Many were hoping at least the iPAD will be up for sale

Doesn't seem like Apple to be so abrupt. I'm sure there will be word on the street even before iPad's being made available on the Online Store. So it's not a letdown to me...

Looks like we're seeing Online Store screwing up more and more these days. Placed an order for a Touch yesterday which states ship by 24 hours minus delivery time. Now almost 36 hours, it's still not yet shipped. And I've just received an-email stated it's been delayed, and they revised my date of delivery... doh.gif
