Has anyone already figure out how to place movie cover art into wdtv menu?

I dont' think its firmware problem.  I have many mkv files that can be recognise and play on my PS3 via PS3MediaServer, but this Transformer file cannot be play too.  And it cannot be play on the WDTV too... I just think that the person who encode the video is not doing something right that cause the compatibilty issue.

I just bought the WDTV and tested a few problem. Appreciate if someone can help on this

Settings: Sharp LC42A65M, Marantz 4500SR receiver, WDTV Version 1.01.02, WD My Passport Essential

Q1. All 1080p movies (mkv and avi) have a little bit lag(not smooth) when showing moving scenes (Eg: As per below youtube
0:10 to 0:12 when the stars resemble )
720p movies have no such issue

Q2. Using receiver to decode DTS from mkv file have very soft sounds from (left,right,surround speaker). Whereby the center speaker is loud and clear.



Notice this is different from other forummers where they encounter soft sounds from center speaker.

Q3. The remote is unresponsive sometimes.

Yep, Band of brothers is definitely clipping every 5 seconds and i think most DTS audio MKV have the same problem.  I don't think its the problem of my AV receiver.  I am using denon AVR3805.

Its the problem with the WDTV firmware.  I read form other forums that many people having the same problem.  Some mkv with DTS plays fine,, but some just have the clipping audio problem.

Lowyat is a only 2 hrs flight from where I live.  If only someone would care to post it here for sale, then he would have got some business from me.

Huh..as long as same as filename will load up and of course u need to be in thumbnail mode for the video viewing area that's all.

How to create our own thumbnails??
Is the old version firmware cannot show thumbnail?

So, we are talking about 120x80 size cover art right??

Added on April 11, 2009, 2:46 pmI format my hdd to NFTS, using quick format. I think FAT32 is for older version of window. Some say after formatting to NFTS, it can release about 1-5% space in the hard disk. But mine is still the same after formatting. Maybe bigger size like 500gb or Itb can see the effect.

any issue if connect this to a plasma tv?

Usually bluray cover found on amazon have the bluray on top not nice.

Prefer those movie poster. If possible those size no need to crop 1
