QUOTE(Sieg @ Mar 1 2009, 11:47 AM) When i went to buy at lowyat, all the shops that i checked quoted me rm399. My last stop was at cycom, the employee at the counter quoted me rm399 as well. i then took a look at their printed pricelist available at the counter, it was listed as rm365. i showed the pricelist to that sales person, he refered to the boss, and he sold it to me at rm365. I am extremely happy with the wdtv. load it up with 1080p mkv and u have great pictures on yr plasmas or lcds. |

I have many mkv files that can be recognise and play on my PS3 via PS3MediaServer, but this Transformer file cannot be play too. And it cannot be play on the WDTV too... I just think that the person who encode the video is not doing something right that cause the compatibilty issue. yes u r right, it's a encoding issue. i have transformer 1080p. it plays fine on wdtv. This post has been edited by eye: Mar 5 2009, 04:59 PM |

The WDTV cannot decode DTS. You have to use the optical out and connect to a dts enabled amplifier. Thanks. This post has been edited by eye: Mar 9 2009, 09:45 AM |

QUOTE(Waachaaa @ Mar 9 2009, 12:51 PM) Hi guys, Q1. On yr WDTV, try switching video output from auto>>1080p24>>1080p60. Usually one of the settings wud clear out the lag. If not, perhaps the file is not done properly at source.I just bought the WDTV and tested a few problem. Appreciate if someone can help on this Settings: Sharp LC42A65M, Marantz 4500SR receiver, WDTV Version 1.01.02, WD My Passport Essential Q1. All 1080p movies (mkv and avi) have a little bit lag(not smooth) when showing moving scenes (Eg: As per below youtube 0:10 to 0:12 when the stars resemble ) 720p movies have no such issue Q2. Using receiver to decode DTS from mkv file have very soft sounds from (left, right, surround speaker). Whereby the center speaker is loud and clear. Notice this is different from other forummers where they encounter soft sounds from center speaker. Q3. The remote is unresponsive sometimes. Thanks. Q2. Perhaps the source file, not done properly. Q3. Yes, sometimes. Treat it a bit more gentle lar. It won't vroom vroom with multiple control presses. Ensure clear path for IR, press slower & firmer a bit. Good luck!! QUOTE(lightning69 @ Mar 10 2009, 01:23 PM) Guide aaaaa .. just go to lowyat & buy lar. about rm21 for 1.5metre.You can go to playasia.com to order TOSlink at US$3.90 per cable. In fact I just order 10 about an hour ago. Added on March 10, 2009, 7:52 pm QUOTE(lightning69 @ Mar 10 2009, 05:51 PM) Yep, Band of brothers is definitely clipping every 5 seconds and i think most DTS audio MKV have the same problem. I don't think its the problem of my AV receiver. I am using denon AVR3805. i have a number of mkvs with DTS. no clippings so far.Its the problem with the WDTV firmware. I read form other forums that many people having the same problem. Some mkv with DTS plays fine,, but some just have the clipping audio problem. Btw, what is a good jpg image resizer to use? Sometimes, we need to create our own thumbnails. Thank you. This post has been edited by eye: Apr 11 2009, 11:51 AM |

QUOTE(mikapoh @ Apr 11 2009, 12:46 PM) For me, i just download the thumbnails from amazon.com or google pix. Using paint.net, i cropped, add text if required & resize them to 120x180 for the WDtv. Yes, in my case. Only when i updated the firmware to 1.02.03, i can see the thumbnails. Added on April 11, 2009, 3:42 pm QUOTE(mikapoh @ Apr 11 2009, 02:43 PM) So, we are talking about 120x80 size cover art right?? Errr .. it is 120x180, mikapoh. Yes that is the std cover art size for WDtv, as pointed out by ayell on page 76.Is this the standard size? Added on April 11, 2009, 2:46 pmI format my hdd to NFTS, using quick format. I think FAT32 is for older version of window. Some say after formatting to NFTS, it can release about 1-5% space in the hard disk. But mine is still the same after formatting. Maybe bigger size like 500gb or Itb can see the effect. This post has been edited by eye: Apr 11 2009, 03:42 PM |

QUOTE(Waachaaa @ Apr 12 2009, 06:27 PM) Where can i download movie poster instead of box art. http://www.movieposterdb.com/Usually bluray cover found on amazon have the bluray on top not nice. Prefer those movie poster. If possible those size no need to crop 1 http://www.movieposter.com/ http://www.impawards.com/index.html U definitely need to resize for use in yr wdtv. @amazon, u cud choose non bd covers, good enuf easiest, as the forumers indicated, is still here : http://www.wdtvc.com/thumbnail-creator/ This post has been edited by eye: Apr 12 2009, 09:49 PM |
