if i want to play my 720p upscale to 1080p what is the setting? dun know whether my PV80 can upscale.. how bout normal DVDrip.. WDTV can upscale?

how do u guys update the firmware? via usb? can the WDTV play DTS decoded mkv passthru optical? i dun have AVR with HDMI connection... thanx in advance..

Bought WD TV few weeks back. Updated to the latest firmware 1.02.07.
I am having difficulty to resume my movie every time after I power off it .

I couldn't perform Search using time input, or maybe I don't know.

Anyone kind to share how to resume movie without using the FF function?

I truly agreed. The price of the Dvico alone is the stumbling block for me, not to mention the space hungry untouched bluray ISO/m2ts files which can easily swallowed up your 1TB hard disk without you even noticing it.....

I have the feeling that WDTV will come out another model which will support HD-Audio in near future. Look at Dvico, there are already models with 4100, 6500, 7100....I will not hesitate to get one if price is good or if not, by then 6500a price will be more affordable.

Like I said , there are 2 issues short of my expectations but cannot deny that I am a happy user too:

1) WDTV cant play all 1080p mkv especially those animations which have high reframes rate.
    I am trying to avoid 1920px1080p mkv. To be on safer side if you still want 1080p, the limit of playback is 1920px816p

2) WDTV cant support HD True Audio due to its V1.2 HDMI port. You need at least V1.3 so this babe is born without this feature. Hardware problem not firmware unless they produce another higher unit.

For No.1 above, future firmware shall be able to solve it where it will supports higher and higher ReFrame of more than 8 perhaps......Thats mean now left with Audio concern for me. 

I have not come across yet. But m2ts have both True Audio and DTS together.

WD mentioned that the best thumbnail size is 120x180...but isn't that a little too small.  Is 120x180 optimum for both 720P and 1080P? 

If it is the same size for both 720p and 1080p, then it should look smaller on the 1080p tv?

Added on May 9, 2009, 2:09 pmI use to get the WDTV from a seller here at Rm365 but yesterday i call him for the latest price and he told me increase to RM415 now.  What is going on here.  Where can i find it at Rm365?

I just bought my unit a few days back, I'm still exploring it and is the highlighted sentence refers to d display pictures on the folders? There is a function whereby v can browse the movies by thumbnails.. is there any special file format that I should put on the pictures? The pictures i managed to get are approximately 25kb. Currently I just modify the folder options of the files whereby I set it to thumbnail views with selected pictures but it still doesn't show in d thumbnail mode. Thanks in advance. 

okie, finally I encounter a few 1080p MKV that are pixelated on WDTV but not on PC.

I always have this problem (even when just bought since last year) -

My WDTV is connected using HDMI to my Plasma TV. When I turn them both on, sometimes (many times) I get the "no-sync detected" signal. No sync on my TV means like no connection or no video signal coming in.

Alot of times when I first turn it on, I can see the WD logo then poof, goes to "no sync". I have to un-cucuk the HDMI cable, on/off WDTV or TV, do a few things before I can get everything working again.

Sometimes I would get vertical lines spaces evenly apart across the screen also and solved by doing the same thing as above.

My HDMI cable is by Giraffe. I cant try another cable cause my TV is hung on the wall and I cant get another cable in unless someone helps me. Unfortunately my TV is zaman dulu wan so no extra HDMI port at the front or side.

It looks like my WDTV sometimes cant auto detect my connection. I had this problem the day I bought it (read the beginning pages). I didnt get it repair because the problem is intermittent. I dont want to send it back unless it totally wont work.

Anyone else encounter this problem?

Anyone know whether cheapo toslink cable will work with wdtv or not?

On a WDTV? Is that possible without HDMI 1.3?

y don't make it support rm and rmvb file
now many ppl use it. it is not a problem for WD

Does it mean you can add in the rmvb coding in WDTV or you wish it can be added in ?  If WDTV can play rmvb then I mgiht get once for myself
