Is it worth getting the 1080p mkv?? Or will 720p mkv be enough?? Considering the 1080p is around >7Gb and 720p is >4Gb?
Now my average time to download a 1080p is around 14-15hrs, but with 720p i could get it at 8-9 hour. Roughly 2 hrs for 1 Gb..

Changed default boot up menu cursor location to Video; previously the cursor defaulted to Photos

This is good, I always mistakenly go to browse photo instead of video after boot up

Let.The.Right.One.In.LiMiTED.720p.BluRay.x264-SEPTiC

after watching first 10 minutes avr lost dts signal and movie went into slow mo. i have to pause, forward n backward to get it started again. after this, the problem gets more frequent as it goes further. since the firmware is a pre-release version, suggest u guys to hold back the update. another thing i noticed is that the player becoming more and more sluggish. anyone else facing this problem?
*
i had this in v1.0.1. it wont happended to all, but some files.
But i think it's more of a "corrupted file" rather than the firmware issue.
So far with v1.0.2 no issu yet - just the loading time i tad longer than 1.0.1...

for movie make the jpg file name same as movie, like srt file. For folder it will take the first jpg in the folder. The best thumbnail jpg size is 120 x 180
*
care to explain??
i get the folder thing, but the jpg=file name??

Guys,

I am trying to play Madagascar 1080p MKV file but it seems pixelated during the playback. Can anybody tells me what is the problem? Do you guys encounter pixelated playing 1080p MKV about 8GB size?

I already updated to .06 firmware.
Thanks in advance.
*
from my experience, most playback issue about pic quality is related to the files itself. If it can play other 720p/1080p smoothly,, why would some be a problem. If wdtv cant play all the other file, then it's time to chase ur seller for warranty.

try using mkverify to check for error..

wah.. WDTV can upscale ... cool.. rclxms.gif need to go buy one...

sory noob question..  biggrin.gif

if i want to play my 720p upscale to 1080p what is the setting? dun know whether my PV80 can upscale.. how bout normal DVDrip.. WDTV can upscale?

how do u guys update the firmware? via usb? can the WDTV play DTS decoded mkv passthru optical? i dun have AVR with HDMI connection... thanx in advance..
*
I thought PV80 is 1024x768, so it will downscale/upscale to 720p only..

- update via thumbdrive
- for dts u need avr with optical in..

Bro, normally I set to 720p cos my tv can do up to that. This time after upgrade the firmware, resolution set to auto, but before set to unknown resolution. Other setting remain, only the resolution change everytime after upgrade.
*
What do u mean by "srt to unknown resolution" - either u dono the pre-update resolution or it's "unknown resolution"????

It is a relativity question.

BTW, I bought it at RM370 at Cycom in Subang USJ Digital Mall.  biggrin.gif

But, bought other hardware parts for company use. Hence more discount.

Also facing slow firmware download  from WD. Suspect its TMNet's bandwidth shaping.

I'm planning to get a plasma TV with WDTV. But I'm not sure if it's the best setup. I'm thinking Panasonic's 42S10K with WDTV. Just the two of them, a direct connect without a home theater system. Is that okay? Or do I really need a home theater system? What's an AVR?
*
You wont regret with plasma. and wdtv is currently the cheapest to experience HD.
The flip side is u need a AVR - AV reciever, to listen to DTS encoded movies.
there are my type of AVR out there - im sure it wont break ur bank to get one..
