need some advices and experiences sharing from here about the 2 cases below.
Case 1
i am planning to buy a headphone from japan
item 4667 yen (rm152)
shipping(EMS) 1100yen (rm36)
total 5767yen (rm188)
will it be subjected to tax? if so, i need to go to klia/lcct custom there to clear it?
from previous, if a parcel is lower than rm500 will not be subjected to tax. Not sure if this will be applied too to electronics.
Also, if I am not at home to receive it (if no tax is subjected), I will have to go to PosLaju office stated to collect?
Case 2
I am buying some CDs from Amazon.jp
from my previous experience at other sites from japan using fedex, they always didnt declare freight charge in the invoice which caused me to be subjected to rm322 assumption for shipping charge.
Wonder if anyone bought from Amazon.jp before is subjected to the same case as well?
Did they declare the shipping charge in the invoice so that the customs will not assume at their ridiculous rate?
My item price: 8565 yen (rm278)
Shipping: 3200yen (rm104)
total: 11765 yen (rm382)
If they do that assumption, my item will be exceed rm500 which is risk of getting tax.
Also, anyone tried to call DHL and waive the tax by providing them the actual invoice?
(For Fedex, I did once and they reduced the tax for me by calculating with the actual shipping fee that I paid)
