What if I buy electronic stuff with value around $100-$150 USD (less than RM500), any possibilities to escape tax?

Last time I bought Kindle Fire for $169 USD, was taxed nearly RM100. I think kinda pointless if I bought sub $150 USD phone then need to pay tax for nearly RM100.
