Hi, I was shopping on eBay US. Let say if I buy a RM800 golf club. Will I need to pay import duty of 10% (i.e. RM80.00) once it arrived at the Malaysian Customs. Delivery Charges must be excluded, rite!!

Well, for purchases less than RM500, import duty is not applicable, but does that apply to all kinds of items??

Thanks, I have asked them regarding the method to calculate tax and sales tax via e-mail. They reply the next working day. It is quite efficient. Anyone have queries on import tax and sales tax should ask them direct. It is quite helpful.

Hi, I would like to suggest you to go to Malaysian Custom Website and ask them the question yourself, either through e-mail or telephone. They will reply your e-mail within 3 working days.

I don't know how you asked them, but maybe you should just ask them "is there any import duty and sales tax for batteries bought and sent in from US."

That is what I did everytime I have a query.
