I think DHL and FEDEX will help me do the clearance right. A Nintendo 3DS will also have to apply for a permit? then i'll get charge for about 10% of it's value? My place also far from KLIA so if can i prefer not to personally declare the item, thats y I'm planning to use these services

Sorry dear, but I'm not sure about this bcoz I've nv purchased a Nintendo. Maybe can wait for TS reply or call Customs directly for clarification.

If your base charge is less than the amount taxable, it would be advisable to split up your shipment. Much better than the hassle of dealing with customs delay + additional agent charges.

If u do look back on just a few pages and pages before that.
It's mentioned many times before, computer and laptops are tax free.

Really? No matter how much the total price? Need to apply for electrical permit or not?

EDIT: How about Kindle? Is this taxable? I contacted Customs directly. First reply I got, it says no - but need to contact SIRIM about the permit. Second reply I got, they say Yes. I'm also confused.

it depends on how u declared it.
Anything with 3G will be taxed.
Not too sure on Sirim. Laptops should be just fine without it.

Thanks for your reply Dreamworkz. For SIRIM approval, how long does it normally take for them to check whether the item has been approved?
