Done with 2nd show tonight at signature gardens, i must say i prefer thx at OU. biggrin.gif overall the movie gets better on the 2nd watch, this time around i must say i felt different because on my 1st show i was expecting it to be like the previous bond movies, full of actions, shoot here and there, but this time around it's more like a drama, u just have to sit and enjoy the story instead of the action. And that's how i felt on my 2nd show. smile.gif and when adele song came this time i found everything make sense, u know the whole graphic thingy where bond fell from the bridge, it really suits the song and now i know everything about skyfall has been explained in that song + that graphic thingy, its cool. Plus i love the songs because it brings the "james bond" mood if u know what i mean. biggrin.gif Great movie! smile.gif

Nolan along with his brother Jonathan can be a terrific writer, but the more I see his films the more I feel he just isn't good enough as a complete package director. His visual grasp is weak, arguably the most important aspect of a director's abilities. Mendes isn't an action director too- in terms of sheer fun and excitement I think the setpieces in Skyfall don't nearly reach the level of CR (who can forget the opening chase in Africa and then the airport sequence?), but he knows how to frame shots and piece scenes together with visual coherence and splendour, something Nolan is clearly lacking. And when you team up with one of the best cinematographers working today, you get action scenes with stunning backdrops. The blue neon background of the skyscraper in China. The glowing red Macau casino. The picturesque Scotland mountainside. The intense burning cottage in the final showoff, never far off the frame. You can't deny the action in Skyfall has arguably the best images in all of Bond films. I also love the shot of Bond walking from the dark hotel corridors into the bright, dusty streets of Istanbul. And that long introductory shot of Silva.

+1. Please dont let nolan direct bond, i didn't find him suitable for the action scene, the drama is okay, but not action, for me mendes did great job on both drama and action. His take on action scenes is different from nolan as nolan take looks a bit dull, not much camera movement, etc, easy to say not as creative as an action director should be. So it's a no no for nolan. Since mendes has already did the "drama" bond, i think the future bond should go back to the tech, gadget, cars, girls, with a little less drama. So there's no room for nolan left. That's just my opinion. nod.gif

Its not a glorious conclusion as it should be for Craig's Bond. Spectre has lost all of Craig's Bond seriousness tone. It's becoming more and more like the old school Bond movies. Definitely not the best in fact i think the worst for Craig's Bond movie series. I'll rate this this movie in 2 terms:

- Craig's personal Bond movies (2/5)
- Overall Bond movies (4/5)

It's still much better than all the previous Bond movies, but not the one that i would expect from Craig's and Mendes Bond. It's sad to see if this is the last role for Daniel Craig as James Bond. Certainly looks like it. He is by far the best James Bond that we ever had. At least to me he is THE BEST. I don't like those sissy James Bond, i prefer much of his macho Bond. It has been a great decade, thank you for giving me the greatest Bond movie series ever Daniel Craig! cry.gif
