yup, pretty much hope to return to some parts of the original 'bond'

i'm sure skyfall will need to return back to the some suave swagger of "Casino Royale" after the little dull "Quantum Of Solace".

Not sure if the sexual innuendo's will be back.. or at least the beginning of the movie intro/theme.  cool2.gif

Lol I remember reading that Thunderball was the first to use all nude models for the opening sequence...must've been fun to shoot...hehe

Well I actually did find Casino Royale better than Skyfall, but a good watch nonetheless. One thing I think longtime fans of the series will like is

I been seeing comments by some other lads & gals on other forums that they find Skyfall humour is dry rolleyes.gif & tooo much talking, not enough of 'action', story to them is prediCtable  shakehead.gif
on that score i might suggest to them transformers 1-4, later 5, Avatar kinda movies etc

Although it seems highly unlikely now, I hope Sam Mendes won't be returning to direct future Bond films.
IMO he's more suitable directing drama films, not Bond films. That's what Skyfall is actually, it's more of a drama, rather than espionage/spy film.

I hope either Martin Campbell would return or just take Nolan, although the latter is unlikely since he's planning on rebooting the film if he's directing.

If Sam Mendes will still be directing then fine, but make it more of a spy film. No more storyline about character's past coming back to haunt, or character's origin or anything like that.

I think it was an interesting take. We were waiting to see when we'd see Q and Moneypenny and the formation of MI6 as we've come to know. I do agree with your take though, it was not a spy movie. There were no xray glasses/exploding pens etc, no flights of fancy that we've come to expect from Bond films. Heck, there wasn't even a Aston Martin DBS, and that was used consecutively in both previous movies.

What Mendes did was bridge the gap between the current Bond and the past Bond. He helped us establish the platform for future Bonds, and I think he feels his job is done. He hasn't expressed interest in the next ones though.

Just back from watching Skyfall. Sorry to say this, not worth at all to watch cinema. I slept almost 1 1/2 hours. Lucky got blanket and comfort seat LOL.

When M die, I laugh like hell and couple behind me laugh as well.

The most boring bond ever. Not worth to download as well =`(

The best and leading is still Casino Royale.

I thought Spectre was pretty good for me...not to the level of Casino Royale but pretty good nonetheless.

1. I liked the single continuous shot in the beginning, during the Mexico City parade, into the hotel and out the window, nicely shot I think.
2. Blofeld! And the origin story of his scarred eye.
3. Connection to previous Bond movies and Mr. White
4. The very real threat of over surveillance in today's society.
5. A better car chase than Casino Royale (but can't match the Quantum opening)
6. Finally the dynamic of old Bond films coming back, 1 main badguy and his henchman; Moneypenny, Q and M etc.

Dislikes
1. This felt like a homage...too many films are trying to redo past plotlines; Blofeld, Star Trek's Khan, Jurassic World, Force Awakens?
2. Too little of Christoph Waltz...we know he can be a really good villain but we barely saw him.
3. The romance plotline felt cheap. Made us feel like he's really gotten over Vesper after he spent 1 movie with her and 1 movie chasing her memory.
4. Only so-so action...the action never really took it to the next level for me.
5. obvious plot - kinda obvious who the bad guy was and the moment South Africa kena bomb after we just saw that they didn't vote in favour of the surveillance plan we already know who is the bad guy

All in all, if you can set aside your expectations, you'll enjoy this in my opinion. It doesn't do anything different, but at the same time doesn't get a whole lot wrong
