QUOTE(ah_fei78 @ Nov 6 2008, 01:50 PM) hi, my company got one unmod Wii. We plan to buy some new original games. But we dont know what is the version? US or japan version? Quite easy really.how to differentiate? additional question:p anyone got original game to sell(with receipt)?? First, the warning information when you power up the Wii. Is it in English? Then chances are higher that you are using a US Wii(if it's totally unmodded). Second, main channel, are they in english too? Yes? Then good. Third, check the Wii settings, but clicking the lower left button in the main channel. Check your firmware version. Is it J (Japanese)? Or it U (US/Universal)? If all these 3 criteria applies to you, then you have a US Wii. But then again, all these settings may be hacked with a modded Wii, so MAKE SURE that you Wii hasn't been medled with. (you can disregard all this information if so) And regarding where to buy 2nd hand games, try the Console Couch Garage Sales. |

I can assume that the Wii that your company(or whoever) bought is from Malaysia. Most retailers in Malaysia carry only US and Japanese versions of the Wii console. PAL distribution of Wii consoles is Malaysia is unheard of, because it's available only for AU/NZ and EU/UK. But the true main concern of why PAL Wii's aren't available here, is because NTSC is more popular, and retailers don't want to stock up on both NTSC and PAL versions of the game(and consoles too!).If I'm not mistaken, an European/UK Wii console will have EU at the back instead. This just popped out of my mind, as I was doing a short search on google for "Wii PAL firmware" and couldn't find anything to support this post. I'm not entirely sure about Australia/NZ.. But we have few forum regulars who reside there in Aussie, so maybe they can confirm this. Signither?.. Can't remember anyone else.. Urh.. |
