Dear fellow iPhone lovers,

Was wondering why is it whenever someone SMS/CALL me and only NUMBERS would appear?

Eventhough I've saved his/her number in my contact list.

"SMS" received SCENARIO :-
Their number would appear in the FORMAT as following :

FORMAT A
+60 161234567 -DIGI
+60 191234567 -Celcom
+60 121234567 -Maxis

(Notice the +60 added and a SPACE then the numbers appeared continuously without SPACE)

But i checked back in my contacts, the original number would be like this :

FORMAT B
(016) 123-4567 -DIGI
(019) 123-4567 -Celcom
(019) 123-4567 -Maxis

(Notice the 3 digits in BRACKETS, SPACE, another 3 digit, a DASH & then 4 digits followed behind)

Eventhough originally I've entered the digits continuously without any characters in the contacts and saved it like 0161234567.

<-------Okay....fair enough...so i modified the number in the contacts and saved it to look like FORMAT A.

So when someone SMS me again....VOILA!! Their NAME appeared instead of numbers again. PROBLEM SOLVED!!

But.........thats what I thought............its not.....................

<--------Now when someone CALLs me.......NUMBERS would appear like FORMAT B above instead of names..

<-------Okay....fair enough again...so once again, i modified the number to look like FORMAT B.

CALLs came in.....VOILA!!! Once again, NAME appeared instead of numbers again. PROBLEM SOLVED!!!

ONCE AGAIN, its not......................................

Now when someone SMS me, NUMBERS instead of NAME would appear like FORMAT A.

[The conclusion is...I'm back to square one no matter what I do or how I modify the format of the numbers.]

Its one or the other.....

By the way, my iPhone 3G is jailbroken. Firmware 2.1.
Country location in the GENERAL SETTING is United States.
I've tried to set it to UK or Singapore, the problem will still PERSIST.

Get AppSupport from Cydia or Installer !!!!!!
