My predictions for CPO.

Commodities stocks r definately the key, was told (a planter) that FFB production is at peak this Nov & Dec. Palm oil mills r refusing to take anymore more FFB from the field except for their own (especially from small stakeholders) forcing them to burry their harvest due to excess capacity.

The contract mths to look out for is Jan 09 Feb 09 (especially) and March 09 FCPO.

If u look at historical information for Nov 06 & Dec 06 and Jan 07 Feb 07 March 07, FCPO prices tend to close higher. I am supposing. (check KLSE web site)

Keep an eye on Dec 08 contract.

If it bucks the this trend than, can cross those fingers and hope for the worse to come.

its all about the money.

Russia needs cash being one of the leading oil producers, so does Venezuela.. i think this OPEC members r more desperate becoz they survive on oil exports.
*
That's true, for my hometown, some of them already suffer that, thinking of getting a small kebun cheap, looking now...

We strife for a better world, but self-interest come first. We have to follow the trend and make something for ourselves in between. But frankly, I don't think oil can hike too much if economy is not improving, and oil hike sky high might kill the recovery immediately. God bless everybody laugh.gif

LOL......

Man this is too funny.

It doesn't matter who gives what forecast or predictions. Brokerage houses gives forecast and predictions all the time. And many of their clients also follow them and some lose badly. Some clients were willing to pay money for research notes.

When i share tips, forecasts and predictions, what do i get from LYN forumers, absolutely nothing. Zero, Nada. So when someone comes to me and complained that i caused them to lose few millions dollars, hey, imagine if you win few million, will you give me some?

Hells no. This is human nature. IF you guys win, you forget my name, if you guys lose, you will pinpoint it to me. Hence, i keep my forecast to myself.

And even before i give my predictions and forecasts, i have said, i am only right half of the time. But if anyone wants to meet me for a cup of coffee to hear my opinions and trading principles, no problem. I love to have more friends. But please just don't tie liability to me because i don't profit from making these forecasts.

QUOTE(sueway @ Nov 11 2008, 08:43 PM)
what is the relationship between profit & annual earnings per share?
do you (especially those full time traders or specialists) analyse stock base on price per share / annual earnings per share ratio huh?

does it mean that we can simple compare stock's share price with its latest EPS report
personally, i don't really feel that P/E ratio is, well, very meaningful to an amateur like me, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PE_ratio tongue.gif  <-- still learning
*
Seems like no expert want to answer you, so I half pat 6 one try to answer.
Earning per share (EPS) = Profit/ total number of share.
Profit Earning Ratio (PE or PER or whatever they want to call it) = present share price/ EPS.
PE can give you brief idea on how the company doing, but remember, that's based on last year figure. For example, if a company closed their financial year (FY) end at 31/12. Today is 12/11/08. Then the PE is based on FY07 and now is 3rd quarter (3Q) of FY08. If the company doing ok for last year but immediately kena teruk this year, you will still see a beautiful PE but indeed the company might already inside deep trouble. A better judgement can be make base on quarterly result, for example you can see the 1Q, 2Q & 3Q result for your reference.
Also please note that profit & loss account (P&L) or comprehensive income statement (new name only, change soup never change ingredients one) is the easiest one to be manipulated. Try read the P&L with cash flow statement and verify with balance sheet, read the notes to account (that's very important notes, but very boring yawn.gif ). Good luck on your investment, you will pick up over the time. brows.gif

QUOTE(sharesa @ Nov 12 2008, 10:25 AM)
One share maybe good to look at around this moment is Resorts.
They are building a casino in Singapore competing against Las Vegas Sands Casino, but Sands have trouble paying back to bank creditors which will result defaulting in their payment and consequently stall their project. But Singapore govt " may" step in to inject capital to save them.
This turn of events indirectly promotes the good name of Resorts, (as what I understand so far their work is progressing smoothly, due around 2010). So, probably their share price may get some boost as people sell off their stake in Sands.

Singapore government 'must' step in....
But think open early or late also the same -> no business, ground is so bad (especially in Singapore) cry.gif

Resort World Singapore does not link to Resort World Malaysia in equity

But Resort World Malaysia could benefit from construction or management services provided to Singapore.

Think you are correct, hold by Genting International, in turn hold by Genting.

But surprisingly, there isn't much adverse effect on its share price. It even climbed up yesterday....
If you look at huaan closely, it's margin is getting lower, as its sales is getting higher....

I don't really get the fundamentals of huaan.

This is an interesting stock, last quarter sales if can collect back this quarter then we still cannot write it off.
