Anyone here studied or studying in overseas now such as America, Australia, UK,Canada or anywhere around the globe?
Mind sharing your experience with us? as in how are the people over there? their lifestyle? how are they treating you? are there any racists? do you have alot of friends? are most of your friends your race(chinese, malays, indians) instead of white people and black people? are you happy with your decision to study overseas? do you regret for not staying back in Malaysia to continue your studies? do you get homesick every now and then? what's the difference between studying in overseas and studying locally?

List out what course, what college, which state, which country that your studying or had studied in and share your experience with everyone.

Come on everyone share your experience!  rclxms.gif

Days before flying to Toronto is really scary, imagine, feeling separated from your family this far apart really sucked cry.gif . I remember it when i cried on the plane from Hong Kong to Toronto and there was this cheerful Canadian fat guy sitting beside me, he thought that i was a Hong Konger and he joked and talked to me non-stop trying to make me happy, although the jokes were lame to me that time, he was really the first Canadian guy i met in my entire life and is good one. That actually gave me courage. The first impression of Canada to me is really great, great airport, great peoples, clean, great weather (realized that it was insane later on the year). The immigrations were efficient and friendly as well. I never knew that there are THAT much of Chinese migrants there. I remember visiting the toilet where i felt like i'm in Asia. I've met quite a few Malaysians/Singaporeans there, but most of the SE asians there are Viets. The first person i met in Toronto after everything was settled was a singaporean guy. As time goes by, i can say my friend circle is really "multi-cultural", half asian half white and a few blacks. Canadians are extremely easy going, they are all already too familiar to this multi cultural scene. I can say racism does exists but it can be said there's virtually no serious rasicm in Toronto, there's once i was pointed the finger by some white guys, only once, didnt really bothered me. Everything is expensive here but it's actually expected, it's like having a meal in Starhill everyday but who says eating outside is a must? Cook yourself! Homesick is an "of-course lah.." thing, it's personal. But trust me, although Canada is sooo far apart, even the least dependent guy will cope well with the life here. It's super fun, in the holidays you may take a bus to NY, NY!!The city that we've seen in soo much on TV, CSI:NY, you know! I am happy that i'm able to study abroad Canada, it's beautiful, busy yet easy going, friendly, migrant-friendly and not to mention i am really starting to love the maple leaf now. The only only flaw about Canada is the weather, as a Malaysian i know we love cold weathers..waaah snow darn cool wth..No, you don't want that. It's ridiculously cold here! So guys! Consider Canada! Alot of degree here are recognized by Malaysian government, no worries ok! Try different flavors apart from OZ, UK, US! thumbup.gif
