5 f***ing years and you'd expect them to at least be able to invite a seiyuu. GACC's been around what? 2-3years? and they had Jun Fukuyama come over.

coz CF are mainly wat u called a artist who wan to do doujin n event of it initially. hence its called comicfiesta not animefiesta/mangafiesta while GACC is like Game Anime Comic?
if still unsattified, u can apply or suggest em to invite Nakajima Megumi or Tsundere Biatch. laugh.gif
but i rather to see em invite manga-ka or CG artist instead, Tony Taka neone? whistling.gif (i personally want Haruco hanahalu though tongue.gif )

Haha, taka tony is too mature for me but demn haruko hanaharu is really a good artist. My personal feveret is Takamichi(LO cover designer).Surely be great if they invite them. rclxms.gif . But GACC is also promising but empty pocket wont take me nywhere.

Then GACC should concentrate on games more because it's GAMES Anime Comic Circle. So you don't have to be so politically correct about the which part of the name comes first.

But seriously, "premier" end of the year con. I know they can do better. They've already gotten a great venue this year, contrary to all the b****ing that it's in the middle of nowhere.

like i say, its initally by those artist wanna do doujin n selling em. hence Comicfiesta was born. i still remember the 1st comicfiesta crampin in Chinese Assembly hall near Pasar Seni. u cant see shiet other than art competition n ppl selling "doujin". cosplay is still minimal though. name is wat i use sarsacticly. n i do use question mark bout GACC coz im still dun know their initial aim, or they just wanna to do Japanese anime/game event like.

Comments like this get me all worked up and upset. I wish I can explain to you guys how unfair this comparison is, but it's not in my power to do so.

Like Fyonne said, CF's main focus is the doujins and artists. A lot of cons here care more for the gaming side, like you can see from ACF, ACGC, etc. but do not really help out with local artists. CF's main purpose is to cover this under-appreciated group. Cosplay in itself is actually an art, so they also extend support for cosplaying. CF has always had the largest amount of doujin booths, they always made doujin circles the priority.

I'm an art major myself, I've been supporting, attending and now volunteering for the last 6 years, buying local doujins in support, selling my own. I know there's a lot of room for improvement, but I've seen them try to overcome it.

My comments are NOT on behalf of CF, these are my own opinions. Do not in any way think that I represent them in speaking to the public.

And this is why CF and LYN will never get along.

This however, is MY own unharnessed opinion. Sure GACC does have seiyuus and singers coming and yeah, i think why CF can't do the same. Yeah, GACC has a biggger budget but CF labels itself as a premier event at the end of the year in Malaysia. Do take note that the highlight of CF is now no longer doujin circles. Most people i come across go to CF because of the cosplay events on the second day.

So where's the contradiction?

I'm not denying you the right to explain how unfair my comparison is. But do take a further look at my comments AFTER that. I'm not going to b**** that CF should get a seiyuu though i wish they would do the same IF possible.

I'm sorry but I don't see how the main highlight aren't the doujin circles/artists. There's Artist Booth competitions, Art Competitions, hopefully art exhibitions and also art workshops. Of course the Cosplay Competition is there too, but there's only one cosplay oriented event as opposed to the other events. Just because majority attend for a different reason does not change the main purpose of CF.

I cannot deny some do go for the cosplays only (cosplayers and non-cosplayers alike). But hey it's kind of like our own Comiket, their main purpose is the doujins, but lots do go just to cosplay/see cosplays. There's no controlling the turnout, and as not many ACG fans are artists I guess not many will be interested in the art, but CF has always acted as a platform for the local artists to have a chance to showcase and sell their work and maybe make a name for themselves, regardless of how the response is towards the local doujin scene.

I'm with you on being happy the location is not in the middle of nowhere this time around. I didn't like Sri Sedaya much, Times Square was good but sempit and not to mention the rempits harrassing cosplayers. There was a bunch of them sitting on the car park entrance obstructing my group from transporting our booth items. =(

If I have a large wad of cash to donate, instead of inviting seiyuus I'd invite mangakas XD (Obata Takeshi I still want to meet you in person someday...)

i sole reason to go CF is to buy artbook/doujin stuff. i dun rely that on other convention though.

n bout sieyuus shiet, like my previous post b4, i would rather too they invite manga-ka, or artist instead.

n im not siding CF here, i well, had some misunderstanding with CF ppl b4 (really bad one). Just went there help my fren with their doujin/artbook (few of them doin it)

That's my own observation. smile.gif You won't always have people agreeing with you. But hey, if they can and want to invite a mangaka, go right ahead. Maybe Ken Akamatsu as a first. :3

Frankly, it'll be all the better if GACC was more animation and cosplay related and CF goes back to its roots ie manga and doujin.

As it is, in my opinion and with agreement from fellow ACGers(not necessarily from this forum), CF is still too rife with internal issues and bickering. Then there's the US vs THEM elitism they always have had. smile.gif

Yea, there's no way of pleasing everybody. But they do try. =)

I don't want to comment on internal issues because well, I'm not involved in that, but I'm curious about the elitism issue. Think you can PM me about the details? Because well, I'd like to hear 2 sides of a story before judging, and feedback is always good.

well bickering and what not... i guess should all be put to rest to make way for the event!!!

i actually find Sri Sedaya not too bad... d first year they had it there was bad coz no idea where's d location. but d second time it was held at least already know d place. ah Sunway sounds good too tho XD

my concern is that... if the place is too big, we won't manage to catch all d cosplayers. There was this year... cant remember... is it the National Art Gallery or something? *fuzzy memory* hm it was really big, and didn't get to catch all d cosplayers (altho, can never catch ALL, toooooo many of them!!! XD XD XD) coz it was scattered >__<

i dun cosplay... but since i juz bought my yukata, gonna wear it there with my friends biggrin.gif
